No, he wouldn't. He proved at Arky that he can't win the big games. And he couldn't recruit even before he had his little incident. How is he going to do that now? The Petrino love never ceases to baffle me. Dumb idea is dumb.

Yeah, you are correct. BP never beat Saban. But I want to bring you up to speed about something because Im thinking that you havent heard.

Nobody beats Saban. He did beat Miles.

The thing that impresses me about it all was when you see the talent level with which he was working with, atleast in the eyes of the services, what he acomplished was nothing short of amazing.

To excuse Petrino because he didnt beat Alabama at a time when the most decorated football program of all time is literally at there highest point of all time is just dumb.

Huh? I think your sentence structure works against the point you're seeking to make. Or were you trying to make the point that there's no excuse for failing to beat Bama when they were unbeatable?

If it came down to Dooley or Petrino, I'm all for Petrino. Put the clauses in the contract to protect UT. Win some games. He takes out Oregon and all will be forgot.

Flame Away.

If there is any chance we beat Oregon it will be because our Defense has really stepped it up, and I mean REALLY. Petrino isn't known for caring too much about defense last I checked.

Somewhat agree, but Tampa had him hired l and he backed out. Article says an NFL exec would hire him today.

It would be interesting to see for sure. I thought Spurrier would excell in the league, but the fun and gun turned out to be a crash and burn.

Not sure if this has been posted but this is who ESPN assumes we are going after..

"Tennessee's short list is believed to include (former NFL head coach Jon) Gruden, (former Arkansas head coach Bobby) Petrino and (Oklahoma State head coach Mike) Gundy," 247Sports.com wrote. "If a move is made on Dooley, Gruden will get the first call, but his salary demands may be
too much for Tennessee to
swallow.
.
Great list. For me it is Gruden, Gundy, then Carroll

If Petrino is the next coach Im done.

If Petrino is the next coach we might actually win a damn game. He might have off the field issues but where it matters (on the field) he gets the job done. If you want to win you have to get a winner as coach weather you like him or not. If all you care about is the coaches personal life then you will love dooley but you will hate the results. Dooley is a good guy but he is a loser! Hell im all for Petrino if we cant land Gruden. Because I want to win again.
