i think tennessee doesn't have the talent most think it does and there is some "building" that needs to be done.

but, that's expected at any job and a quality coach can come in and turn things around.

however, this team needs a talent infusion as well.

Especially on Defense and RB.

UT is a top program. Thanks to Derek Dooley the program has moved out of the abyss of the point it was when he took over. He has not moved it to the top ... yet, but clearly it is better than it was 3, 4, or even 5 years ago. He took over a cesspool with talent so thin that even a full 22 player roster was impossible. Today, it is about 30 or so deep. It takes 40 - 45 real players to compete week to week in the SEC. It should reach that point next year when everyone currently contributing moves up a year in experience. If it is Dooley or a new coach, there will be a step change forward in 2013.

Yes I agree Dooley has really moved this program in the right direction. It's funny how he was more successful with that 22deep roster, which is completely false. 22 players isn't enough to even play a game. With that first team he almost beat LSU. The next year he got beaten by Kentucky, another step in the right direction. And this year he got the record not only for most consecutive losses in SEC history but also the record for most yards given up by a Tennessee Defense. Now we aren't even addressing the win loss category. Which falls right in line with his previous statistics and win loss at LM. So yes let's praise Dooley. Also lets not forget that over his three years our recruiting class has steadily been dropping to a now 12th in SEC. So really if backward or stagnant is the right direction, then you are correct. I always like it when some points out what a wonderful job this coach has done, however , they are never able to rely in proof or numbers or anything scientific to back up such an assertion. EVERY indicator is direct proof otherwise and his tenure st UT is a direct reflection of his past record as a head coach and his ability as a current head coach. So drink that Doolade. But no one here is fooled by him

That's what we were saying this off season for this season...fact of the matter is, our offense got there and our defense took 2 steps back. We will never when with Sal Sansari. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE HIRE

:horse:

Keep in mind...Dooley wanted Kevin Steele, Hart wanted Sunseri...Hart won!!
