ESPN hates us again

I'd rather we just not have the preseason hype honestly.

Only if it really impacts the team in a bad way. If hype/no hype doesn't really matter, then it's more fun to me to with the hype. If it is a hinder to our team then I'm for putting an end to any hype. I always thought the Hype was for the fans and the work was for the team. The only negative I see is when we don't live up to the hype it's a bigger disappointment. That could be a good thing. For our players to be bitter, it could give them focus. Being injured and poor focus hurt the team.

Release the Beast!

So ESPN being honest in an analysis is them hating us

It's a tricky subject on here with ESPN. Take last season for example:

ESPN gave UT a lot of pre-season love/hype with talks of the SEC and potentially a playoff spot. With that, the "ESPN hates UT" crowd softened a little.

However, towards the end of the year, the "ESPN hates UT" crowd got their proof by saying ESPN's preseason hype of the Vols put undue pressure on the team causing the Vols to not make it to the SEC CG much less the playoffs.

Now, it's 100% back to ESPN hates UT.

Butch thought the Ap State victory in overtime would qualify. No?

From a coaching and player's point of view a hard fought win is a quality win. From a fans point of view we only play a few quality opponents each year. As for 2016 we only played 1 and that was bama. Even they had a down year.
