ESPN hates us again

Useless thread. How successful team 121 will be next year is not related to what ESPN says. There is just no connection.

He is buying KSU, OSU, and FSU but is selling Oklahoma, UT, and Virginia Tech?? I am shocked considering ESPN has already written articles saying as much about said teams. He is really going out on a limb there seeing as how each of the teams listed on the selling side is losing a ton of starters.

The fact we are even mentioned by ESPN in this article is a sign of respect for the program.

The major hope we have for a springboard from that game is that our team will work harder this offseason as if they had a chip on its shoulder for getting "NO RESPECT." But, that is precisely what they earned this year.

Can you blame them? The Vols used the big bowl win in Tampa over a middling Big 10 team to "springboard" to a lackluster start and a fading finish. Why on earth would a win over an equally bad Nebraska team indicate UT was ready to "springboard" to anything and especially considering the roster losses?
But we've made some big off-season hires...?

That is almost as good as a moral victory

I understand whatcha mean, but to call a 5-0 start lackluster is kinda a reach. No they wasn't pretty but it was still 5-0 for the 1st time in years and 1 of those W's was to break the streak against Florida so I'd say it was much better than lackluster....I'd almost call it a great start.

I'd prefer to highlight ESPN writer Chris Low's atrocious command of English with such gems as "and were also hurt but early entrees into the NFL draft."

Not only does that sentence fragment not make any sense as it stands, but any decent copy editor would sell "but" and buy "by" then sell "entrees" and buy "entries" before that article hit the light of publication day.

Nah, I'm just nitpicking. He made some fair points. Now, let's prove him wrong and win the East.

Go Vols!

Chris, in any article you "buy" us, I may accidentally forget my red pen. It works both ways.

abc has hated ut since 1985 when Keith Jackson was pulling hard for mighty Miami to beat ut.

I got trick bagged by that game.

That's some good memories.

I'm so ready for that again.

The feeling of beating a quality team.

Get it together Butch!
