How do they set up the GAMEDAY channels? Are there multiple channels if two games play at the same time? Do they have commercials?

There are multiple channels. They have the same commercials over and over again. During basketball season, I saw the Dr. J Dr. Pepper commercial dozens of time last year on ESPN FullCourt.

It should be of great importance to the our national security to make sure all of our troops over in the Middle East have football to watch. Why would it be so hard for the government to send it over there for free and to keep morale high. No matter who your favorite team or conference was.

Seriously, I am shocked they dont do it.

Dan out of curiousity is there any American football on TV in Europe??
Can you just about catch every Tennessee game on espn Europe?

All I get is AFN and Sky TV. AFN (armed forces network) which is basically all the popular US shows. I think they will air the Florida game. Sky is British but it shows most old US shows. I haven't noticed American sports but I don't have the sport pack. I think I'm going to try the ESPN Europe.

Yeah thanks for all the help. I am in Las Vegas and think the Gameplan is going to be worth it. Plus, I like watching college football in general. Just didn't know about the SEC games now since ESPN bought all the games. I guess that it is a real good thing for the conference and its fans.

I found this link about ESPN's coverage
2009 NCAA Division I-A NCAA Football Scores and Schedules for Week 1 - ESPN

Thanks man I could not find this, By far the best thing I have got to read today I WILL GET TO WATCH THE GAME.

I need serious help!!! Just found out that ESPN GamePlan is not offered in Cambridge because it doesn't carry enough Bandwidth. It appears my only option is to watch it on ESPN 360 but I am having a few people over to watch the game and am hoping to avoid having to watch it on my small laptop. A few questions: 1) Do you all know of any other resource that would allow me to watch the game on TV? I have Comcast. and 2) if I have to watch it on ESPN 360, do you all know if I can plug my computer into the TV so that my TV basically becomes a computer monitor? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

WPAINE, that is weird about Gameplan in Cambridge. I had Comcast when I first moved to Arlington, but I didn't get Gameplan that year (so now I wonder if I even could have had I tried). We switched to Verizon FiOS after that, and I've had no problem getting Gameplan with them for the past two years and again this year.

Unfortunately, I am not back yet or I would invite you and your people over. Actually, I am thinking about getting the Boston folks together for a few of the games this year if you are interested (I think that are one or two others on here). That would be the Florida game at the earliest because we'll still be in Norway for a few more weeks.

As for your question, you might be able to use your computer to watch the game on your TV. Does your video card on your computer have a video-out? If so, you will likely see an S-Video port on that back of your computer (my Dell D-610 laptop has one on the back, right-side for example). You can use a S-Video cable to connect this to your TV if you TV has a S-video input. Another possibility might be to use a serial to S-video cable on your computer and then attach this to your TV if you do not have an S-video out. However, that is getting outside my knowledge-base....maybe someone else could provide more details.

I have used the HDMI output on my laptop to watch basketball games on ESPN360 on my TV, which has HDMI input. It is possible, but it all depends on what outputs/inputs you have.

The picture quality is not great, but watchable.

That sucks that you can't get Gameplan.

Yeah it's absurd. It is offered in Boston, so usually I have to suck it up and go watch it in a Sports Bar, even though I would much rather enjoy it in the luxury of my own home with the grill going and some chocolate milk on ice :)

I contacted a friend of mine that said he knows how to set it up so I can watch it on my TV through ESPN 360... In regards to the Florida game and so forth that sounds great. As I said in the prevoius thread, in the past I have been forced to go into Boston and watch the games by myself. Would be a lot more fun to watch them with other UT Fans! Let me know when you get back from Norway and hopefully we can work something out!
