ESPN did not hesitate to make a crack at Tennessee today on GameDay

Ron Zook and losing to Ga Southern says hello. You clearly don’t remember Bama and UGA down periods either

Alabama still won an SEC Championship during their "down" period.

Also guess who Florida beat the year they lost to Georgia Southern?

We are 60-62. Hardly what the “terrible” record of actually lifetime bad programs. And that’s with us playing multiple top 10 teams both in and out of conference. If we played a Boise St, UCF, Indiana, Washington St or Duke type schedule we would’ve been a top 25 type record team nearly every year the last decade. We have shot ourselves in the foot and been average no doubt. But we aren’t exactly La Monroe or New Mexico St either

That's fine but even giving you this we still don't deserve the level of respect people like the OP are demanding.

I do remember. You don't. Neither Bama's nor Georgia's down periods were as bad as ours. You should conduct better research before posting. Or I suppose you might not know any better
From 1993-2007 (14 years). Bama was a little over .500 with losses to La Monroe, Hawaii, Southern Miss, La tech, and bad blowout losses to SEC bottom feeders as well as their rivals. That ranked 55th in the country during that 14 year period. I would argue that’s pretty bad and comparable to us

I'm getting real sick and tired of not getting the respect a top 12 program all time should get. We are the best team in SEC history besides bama
This all day! The lack of respect for 2nd best in a conference is illogical! And Top 10? If it wasn't for ESPN hating us it would be "Top 12", not "top 10".

They did win a SEC title in the middle of that period. That last year you mentioned they lost to La Monroe but beat our azzez 41-17.

They weren’t a little over .500, their winning percentage was .614. Stop discounting vacated victories. On the field they were 113-71 from 93-07. That included 1 sec championship and 4 division titles.

All of them went on about "we would need a whole show to discuss the transfers from Tennessee" and then laughed about it. Always willing to throw a barb in there against Tennessee.

Hell, I’d say we’re no worse than even. You want transfers out of a 3-7 program. Having all of them back is like the doc saying you’ve got Covid again.

People, if you spend your beautiful Sat mornings watching that, you need help. I understand on a cold rainy day, and maybe it was where OP was, but don’t waste your morning watching that crap expecting anything but Bama, Clemson, OSU, OU, Ga love.

Find a hobby or chore to do sat mornings until games start. You’ll be much happier.

In other words, if don't want to hear them talk about the best teams, don't watch. Who should the love fest be for? It doesn't make me unhappy if I flip it over there. If you're easily triggered and thin skinned, you should certainly find another interest

Stop watching!! I stopped years ago. I can't stand listening to Pollack and Howard giggle like little kids for 3 hours straight.

Hey now, don't try to muddy Ricky's fantasy with historical facts.

Oh boy, more whining posts about mean ole ESPN picking on Tennessee and how we don't get the respect we deserve...

#1 WGAF...
#2 When we do something worth respect, we'll get respect. Sh!tting the bed doesn't qualify and the present cares not about our history...

Our relevance is tied to embarrassing coaching searches, followed by embarrassing coaching hires followed by embarrassing coaching performances, for nigh on two decades.

Until that changes we are a punchline.

"You ARE who your numbers say you are." Big Tuna/Bill Parcells

Our numbers THEN said we were relevant. Our numbers now say we are and have been irrelevant for decades up to present day. Don't like it? Do something about it.

All he was saying is how many we had transfer. We did have a lot. Big deal. I laughed too

Those games were vacated because they cheated. Thus their record was .51%
no it doesn’t. If you’re taking about a “down period” the only thing that matters are results on the field. No one gives a damn about what a record book says. Tennessee’s down period has been nowhere nearly as successful as Alabama’s.

We're still part of the conversation, still getting airtime, still on their lips.

I can deal with that. The ultimate insult ESPN can give us is to give us no mention at all, ever.
