All of them went on about "we would need a whole show to discuss the transfers from Tennessee" and then laughed about it. Always willing to throw a barb in there against Tennessee.

They weren't wrong..Respect is earned and lately we haven't deserved it. Past results mean nothing in a new season.

I'm getting real sick and tired of not getting the respect a top 12 program all time should get. We are the best team in SEC history besides bama
Everyone says Tennessee has been irrelevant for 15-20 years now. But it amazes me how UT lives rent free in people’s heads and we still get brought up even though we are not “irrelevant”. Must be something when people can’t stop about UT.

We have to earn respect for what happens in today's environment. Yale, Harvard and UPenn are all ranked ahead of TN in all-time wins. Being on the list means little if you have not done much in the last almost 20 years.

Our relevance is tied to embarrassing coaching searches, followed by embarrassing coaching hires followed by embarrassing coaching performances, for nigh on two decades.

Until that changes we are a punchline.

Win and everything changes. In the meantime, I don’t gas what ESPN thinks. I only care about our coaches and our players taking care of business and worrying about the things only they control.

ESPN's formula is to kiss up to the cool kids and crap on the ones who aren't cool. Aside from its negative impact on recruiting, it doesn't mean anything more. Just remember next time you think about giving Disney any money - when you buy something from Disney, you're paying for more of the same from ESPN.
