I see ESPN decided to use a former PENN STATE Quarterback to call the game today....I wonder who he was cheering for????????

I wondered if anyone else saw the Joe Paterno Show today... I also commented about having a commentator who was a former player... In the end, our turnovers plus that tacky offensive intereference call early on.

How about that lousy coaching.....PSU players are not in the same class as ours....how embarrasing!

Blackledge is a fine broadcaster an he called the game down the middle.

Yes, as an alum, I'm sure he's happy with a Penn State victory, but he didn't allow that to affect his job.

Yes, when you have the better team, you should win, PERIOD. Football is not like baseball where anyone can win. We were again outcoached and very unprepaired. We were luck it was even close. Morelli who was horrible all year looked like Dan Marino against our D.

Very disappointed......

I agree i think he did a good job I wasn't saying he didn't. THey just kept talking about how he played at Penn State and showing those clips of him introducing his players....thats all.......

Personally the clips of Peyton Manning in his UT days made me throw up a little in my mouth. I trust you felt the same way about that stroll down memory lane in regards to UT.

Like I said in another thread, I thought the commentary was fine, just the production was ridiculous with all the JoePa stuff and showing Todd Blackledge pics over and over again.

Dude, it was only like a few times while he broke a huge basketball record, that wasn't half as annoying as the Joepa picks... We get it, he is senile, but still the best coach on the field.

Blackledge called the game and showed absolutely no bias at all. Sure he was cheering for State, but he didn't let me know that.

Did you just ignore the other posts by me saying I didn't think he was bias, I just thought the clips and pictures of him and joepa got ridiculous.......

No, I don't think the commentary was fine. As for the production, if I have to see Joe Paterno one more time in the press box, I think I will throw up. Granted we did not play well and we did lose the game, but my goodness how about letting us have a llittle consideration for being a football team. Yes the coaches were outcoached and the players were outplayed, but still comeon, we have a coach who has more wins on the sideline coaching and he gets absolutely no reconigniton from Blackledge and the other smuck. I am totally once again disgusted with ESPN.

I didn't see or hear him cheering. At any rate he wasn't playing.

Why does it matter? it doesnt affect our play. quit whining

Nout sure why people are refusing to read the rest of the post. I never stated I thought he sounded bias or that is the reason we lost (as was stated in previous posts but you both chose to ignore it), I just got tired of all the the old JoePa picks and the Blackledge pictures and videos....THAT'S ALL.....Don't be so ignorant to quote one thing I said and not look at everything else that was said......

I was even tired of all the JoePA crap. Just call the game who cares what Joe's reaction is to ever freaking play.

PENN STATE haters LEE CORSO and HERB KIRKSTREIT or is it KIRK HERBSTREIT both picked UT to win because of their superior speed. I kept waiting for this so called speed to manifest itself, but it never happened, unless it was the speed with which they left the field after the game.

We lost because Penn State wanted it more than we did. It was evident on the field and the comment by Coach Fulmer at halftime when asked by the on the field interviewer girl what was wrong "We just don't have the energy we need to have" was on target.

YEAH RIGHT. Two time BEDNARIK award winner(POSLUSZNY),2out of the 3 finalists for DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR(POSLUSZNY&CONNER),the #2 ranked QB coming out of HS(MORELLI),#1 HS RECRUIT(D WILLIAMS) and a RB that consistently carried your DEFENSIVE LINEMEN for extra yds after contact. PSU players not in same class as your weakling players?COME ON GET REAL!
