didn't read the article, but if they're talking about our situation in terms of a quick trigger, you should disregard every single word.

Just read the part where they are talking about Phillip. I didn't read the entire article either, just the Fulmer part.

I read the relevant parts of the article. It DOES NOT discusss Fulmer's situation as being an example of a quick trigger. It talks about Auburn's firing of their OC and Clemson's firing of Bowden as being examples of quick triggers only because they fired their guys mid-season. It did, however, indicate that Clemson's situation was an example of unbelievably poor management because they had just extended Bowden's contract four more years and given him a raise less than one year ago. Gee, does that sound familiar?

With respect to Fulmer, they basically said that it was INSANE to have extended his contract at the end of last season. They stated that Fulmer and his staff basically had virtually no shot of turning this disaster around. They also stated that Fulmer and his assistant coaches probably aren't any worse as coaches now than they were at the turn of the century, but UT's recruiting has declined significantly since then, particularly with the addition of good coaches to the conference. I agree with this statement. Fulmer and company were ALWAYS inept as coaches.
