If we win out I'm pretty sure we wouldn't be in the Music City Bowl. I guess they don't think we can win out. Probably won't but ESPN is wrong a lot.

IF we win out, we will definitely be playing in a BCS bowl.

Actually, I think that's wrong. If you win out, that means you win the East and you almost certainly get beat by LSU or Alabama, making you at four losses and coming off a loss very unattractive to the BCS. I read today that no team losing its conference championship game has gotten an at-large BCS berth.

And if you lose one along the way you are at four losses and its still unlikely you get high enough in the rankings (BCS or otherwise) to make it to a BCS bowl.

The team that could actually benefit fromy uo wining out and winning the East is UGA, who could quietly slip into the SEC #2 spot and get picked up by Fiesta or Orange as an at-large.

The way I see it, Florida has virtually no chance at a BCS bowl this year and UT's only shot is to win out and then pull off a big upset by winning the SECCG. Highly unlikely.

losing to LSU in the SECCG would not fall under the def of winning out, IMO.

Apparently UGA beating Vandy and UF weighs more than losing to USC and UT. These bowl projections are really dumb because these guys are so flakely. It always changes by the week, so don't get too worked up yet.

I thought you meant winning out in the regular season. Yes, if you win the rest of your games plus the SECCG, you obviously will get a BCS game.

What are the odds on you doing that? I'd say total odds, 10%. Maybe 15%, or roughly 1 season out of 7, if you played it out 7 times.

Also, if we meet Bama in the SECCG, it won't be 41-17 I can tell you that with 100% certainty.

No absence of a playclock in ATL, nor will there be refs who feel like they have to change the balance of the game. And Cut will not abandon the run like he did the last time.

Oh yeah, and I doubt Saban would lead off with an onsides kick.

Honestly, I should have clarified.

I'm a negavol by most measures and I think our likelihood of winning out is significantly higher than not. Beating LSU in Atlanta, whole different ball of wax.

Let's assume that LSU is playing for a shot at the national championship.

Would you be better off in terms of bowl assignment losing to Arky and letting UGA be the sacrificial lamb for a highly motivated LSU team in ATL?

We've been the team with a shot at the NC game after winning the SECCG. It didn't work out too well for us that year so I am not conceding the game to LSU.

I don't think so. Losing to LSU in the SECCG won't be as hurtful as 4 reg season losses, especially with one to Arky. At least our 3 losses today are to reputable (however flimsy those reps may be) teams.

I honestly think we could give LSU a good game if we played like we did against UGA. If we bring our SC game we are royally screwed. I'd rather a chance at the SECCG

Currently has Florida (#5 SEC) in the Peach Bowl and Tennessee (#7 SEC) in the Liberty Bowl.

Maisel has South Carolina as the SEC #2. He must have a lot of faith that they'll beat Arkansas and Florida. I don't.

IF ESPN was that good at picking things, they should concentrate on picking lottery numbers!!! ESPN's "guesses" are no different from anyones. If those many EX coaches are so good, why are they EX coaches? I have no warm place in my heart for ESPN.

Both of those projected bowl games would be so boring. We should spank either of the teams they have us up against, but lord knows when we go to lame bowls we have a history of phoning it in.
