I would rather go to the Outback rather than the Cotton for these reasons:
Ice. It can turn nasty in Texas that time of the year. Remember Casey in the Ice Bowl?
Fox carries the Cotton Bowl on one of the alternate channels. Hard to locate, not seen all over the country.
Cotton is a day game, Outback is night. :dance2:
Do any of you guys know how freakin cold and rainy it is in Dallas in Jan? The weather for the Cotton Bowl almost always SUCKs! Let's see do we want to freeze our tail off in Dallas?....Or go to Tampa Where it's usally 70 degrees and sunny with about a million things to do within 2 hr drive? Serious no brainer. BTW lived both places so experiance is first hand.

Cotton bowl would be great. That's the only one that I could go to. Isn't the Outback an 11 am game (makes it a 10 am game here)? I have a hard time getting into a football game that early in the morning.
Like I said earlier, bowl tie ins require the Outback to select another team from the East BEFORE the Cotton is allowed to select a non-WEST team, and any selection preference requires that the team with the best record with a leeway of one game in the conference record is taken first...
That means that UGA/SC/KY have to finish within a game of us and be selected first by the Outback, while LSU has to have at least 3 losses.(and would probably still be preferential due to location)
There aren't many feasible scenarios barring a full SEC collapse that puts us in the Cotton Bowl.
On the bright side, this is the weakest slate of non-BCS bowl teams we've ever put out, it's entirely possible a 6-6 team could end up in the Peach Bowl this year with vacancies the rest of the way down.
BCS - Alabama(13-0) and Florida(12-1)
Capital One - LSU(10-3)
Outback - Tennessee(8-4)
Cotton - Auburn(7-5)
Peach - South Carolina(7-5)
Music City - Kentucky(6-6)
Liberty - Mississippi(7-5)
Independence - Georgia(6-6)
Papajohns - Arkansas(6-6)
^that is a best case scenario.
who do you have florida losing to?
Cotton would be great, but Outback gets first choice of Eastern division teams. Thus, Outback would have to choose USCjr or UGA over UT - not happening.
