ESPN at it again.

Guys, they WANT Kiffin to fail. A failure is easier to write about than a success. That's why you don't see many positive stories in the news these days.

You guys should watch CSS Sports Night....

Those tools are just giddy with excitement over the Vols troubles....

I don't really care what ESPN writers think, just because they say it doesn't mean its true. Their opinion means about as much as mine, and that's not much.

There will come a day when they will all eat crow. With a big ole glass of Orange Crush to wash it all down with. Too bad you cant use curse words on VN. I could sure think of a few i would give them right now.

CBS is just as bad. During the Florida game I wanted to just turn it off and listen to the radio. They make me mad every year during that game.

In the media, scandal sells best.

But for the life of me, I can't figure out why they pick on Kiffin instead of Chizik or Mullen. What has Lane done that stands out so differently from everybody else?

Kiffin is the youngest D1 coach in the country and has done nothing to prove himself, really. He does bring with him arguably the best staff in the country...and highest paid. If results aren't immediate, the pundits will attack with a saying "I told you so" mentality. The reality is that winning coaches that can produce consistently don't fall out of trees. Kudos to MH for thinking outside the box on this hire. Even if it doesn't work out (and it will) he took a very different approach to this one...more of an NFL approach. We just need a QB and 2 good receivers. That's what I think, anyway.

if you noticed, they commented on quite a few different teams/coaches/players, not just us.

it's not so much it's easier to write about, idea's more towards failure stories get more reads and people like to read more about someone being a screw up (to clean the term up) than they do about someone being a success

Many of our own local sports casters here in Knoxville seem to get a little giddy about the Vols recent lack of success...... hmmmmm

Lane Kiffin (11): "I'm sorry for following our 'major statement' performance against Florida with a phlegm-in-the-throat statement in our next SEC game against Auburn. No matter how much talking I do, we're still 2-3 and my best head-coaching victory is an 11-pointer over Ohio."

You can forget that logic. When it comes to ESPN it's the mob mentality on here. Just humor them and you'll enjoy the "ESPN conspiracy" theories. It helps them ignore the fact that we are rebuilding and it's all ESPN's fault that we aren't 5-0.

Shhhhh! don't spew that garbage here. There guys are too busy convincing themselves that ESPN has a personal vendetta against all things UT and that it somehow helps them as a network to bash us constantly...

Since this team is 2-3 with very unimpressive wins, it doesn't matter if ESPN wants CLK to fail... that's exactly what is happening if things don't change fast!

What would a message board be without the Oliver Stone types?...

So far Kiffin is failing, from his playcalling, the QB and receivers can't get on the same page. GJ throws a fit and gets nothing, cause he is a pet, BW who has more talent that GJ gets dismissed. This team is falling apart. Kiffin has till the end of the year to turn it around, or this high priced expirement should end.
