Minimizing his accomplishments so that your original idiotic post has some merit. Good call. We don't beat Florida in 2004 without a tremendously talented Freshman QB named Ainge. Keep telling yourself that it was all Rick Clausen and Schaefer.
But it was Rick Clausen and Scheaffer. Sorry.

Clausen was really just the last two games of the season. And Schaeffer wasnt much more than a "pace change" backup after the UF game

I get you don't like the guy, but if anything, if insistent upon treating this season as such, you'd be better served arguing, say, the RBs carrying the team or defense (with the QBs being game managers) than just Schaeffer & (especially) Clausen.

Ainge, Scheaffer and Clausen took us to the SECCG in 2004. And Ainge didn't even play in that game.

2007 was a backdoor special for Fulmer and the gang. Florida had an all freshman defense and lost a few big games and UGA was being your typical UGA (underachieving). That was probably one of the worst SEC East representatives in a championship game up until that time in history. Not to mention that he single handedly lost us the game.

Yes, the last guy to lead tennessee to a win over Florida, take us to two sec championship games, and beat Florida, Alabama, and Georgia in the same seasin really wasn't that good for UT. This is what you actually believe

The worst SEC east representative?
Did you watch the game?
Have you recently reviewed any of the footage, statistics or score?

It was contested all the way to the 4th quarter...Ainge threw 2 INT's but the game was VERY close. And, LSU went on to win the national championship, it isn't like we lost to a close game to a bad team. We were 6-2 in the SEC that year, tied with UGA for the east but beat them due to a head to head tie-breaker.

Last year's performance by UGA was possibly the worst, in recent memory. This back door talk is silly, it isn't like there is not a mathematical formula to determine who wins the divisions. Some fans talk like every other SEC east school declined the invite to the Ga. Dome and UT was a fill-in.

Where is the idiot who likes to start the "Ainge is bashing Bray" threads?

I love Ainge's show. I like to hear him break down football. It's cool to listen to somebody who actually knows something about the game instead of idiots like Jimmy Hyams, John Adams, and John Pennington. I'd like to punch those guys in the face!

See the post of above yours

I was as critical as anyone of Fulmer in the last years. But you are what your record says you are, don't buy the whole backing into conference championship game argument.

And beating Georgia like a drum at home along with tough wins against South Carolina and Arkansas is what allowed UT to play in the SECCG. And truth be told a game that UT had LSU dead to rights the majority of the game. Yeah Ainge threw a costly pick, but Cutcliffe did a masterful job in getting Ainge's confidence back his junior and senior seasons.

I don't disagree that there were some great wins that season. Tennessee competed wonderfully against LSU. That was a ferocious game. Huge hits all game.

The lop-sided losses to UF and UA that year were hard to stomach. There won't be too many SECCG teams which lost two conference games by a combined 60+ points.

Nb4 Negateer

Aww...thinking of me.

Now I feel all warm inside.

Where is the idiot who likes to start the "Ainge is bashing Bray" threads?

He was bashing Bray. He's stopped lately, since I pimpslapped him.

His show is fine, informative and he's not a negavol. On the field, he's a chokefest waiting to happen.

Any team Ainge isn't behind center is a team to be hopeful about.

Have to agree.

Why am I not surprised? Every post you make reminds me of that crazy "LEAVE BRITNEY ALONE!" chick. I doubt Ainge gives a rat's @$$ about what you say.

Like I said Negateer and Rasputin are just two idiots who don't know the first thing about football....of any kind. Negateer is the biggest cry baby if someone says Bray isn't that great....he's got the talent but he hasn't beaten anyone....when Bray beats Florida, Georgia, Alabubba, and any other SEC school besides Ole Miss, Kentucky (once), and Vandy then call me.

In 04 schaeffer was reduced to situational by the third game and was out for the rest of the season from a hit against usc Jr I believe it was.
Ainge accounted for most of the snaps taken in the first 8 games or so then clausen took over during the notre dame game and on out. Awful in his sophmore year. Jr year was his best although Fla won the east and NC game thanks to poor coaching and a couple huge calls that flipped it in fla favor. 07 was a little back doorish but hey I will take it. Ainge throughout his last two years held the school completion percentage record and quite a few more. I would take Ainge in his Jr and Sr years any day. He threw two bad passes in the 07 sec champ game, to say he lost in on his own is ignorant !!
His plays stood out due to being at the end of the game.

Tennessee didn't back their way in the SECCG in 2007 by winning their way in. They lost to Florida and Bama, beat everyone else. Florida went 5-3.....

SC vs Auburn was the worst

Those were stiff losses & showed the divide b/t Fulmer led teams against elite coaches. I just remember the SECCG made Jerod Mayo a bunch of money at the next level.
