Erik Ainge talks Tenn/UGA

Ainge has said on his new radio show that he was supposed to be under center because of the change at center and went shotgun because he though he had the wrong signal. Snap was bad because of it and he tried to pick the ball up instead of falling on it. He blames only himself, not Sanders or Fulmer.

It was cut not sanders.

On the stupidest offensive series in the history of football.

I have a lot of time for Randy Sanders and think he is too much maligned by the fan base. But until Florida 2017 the Notre Dame QB sneak was the worst play call in Tennessee history. It literally got Fulmer fired.

Easy now... I too remember the Johnny Majors Show. It might have been the most awkward thing ever put on television.

Was going to say the same thing.

I still laugh when I think about CJM using the numbers instead of the players name.

"Ol number 45 made a really good tackle there"

CJM had a ton of positives. His TV show ranked pretty far down that list.

was right there in Q 34... can still hear the boos

I was in W row 20.

Im still not sure what the plan was when they took the field. The ultimate goof in a game they had covered. Ainge going down put it over the top stupid.

I watched that 06 replay the other day. He threaded them!

I was at that game. Had these 2 rednecks talking smack to me and my girlfriend (now wife) the entire first half. I said just wait and see, and then we drop 51 on them and get the cover of Sports Illustrated the following week.

Ainge was hurt in 2006, but that's not the injury being discussed. The one being discussed was in 2004/05. Tennessee didn't play Auburn or Notre Dame in 2006.

Gotcha. My bad. When cut ran him on a qb draw to hurt him in 2006, I thought was one of the dumbest calls all time.
