Good article. I knew he partied in HS, but that's crazy... Hopefully he gets his life back on track.

I had a UT doctor for my knee and they were always very liberal with the pain meds. Of course once they quit giving them to me I couldn't afford to buy any more so I got off them but they are addictive. Mix them with alcohol and it wasn't pretty

I realize these guys play with pain every day but there needs to be some accountability

just about to post this.

Sad to see that as fans, we had no idea what was going on in this guy's life.

Hope all works out for EA.

Really hopes he turns things for the better and stays clean. His football career is probably over, but doesn't mean his life isn't. Kid's got a college degree and a good family. He'll find his calling.

I hope he gets everything together in his life for the long haul. I have always liked Ainge as we were in college at the same time and he was always respectful towards me the few times we encountered each other.

Good luck Erik.

The doctor or Ainge?

You have to respect him for being so open about it.

Now if we could get MikeHamiltonFan to do some about his mental health issues.

I've never seen somebody hate a player more than TrollVA hated that guy.

Wow, I had no idea that some of this stuff was going on while at UT. I had a handful of classes with him and he always seemed like a pretty down to earth guy.

Glad to hear that he's trying to get his act together. I'm sorry if this sounds selfish, but I hope none of this comes back to hurt UT.

Erik has gone through alot. Hope he stays on the right path. As far as his time at UT, gotta wonder what the folks in charge at the time were thinking.

Wow, I never had any idea that things were that bad for Erik. I hope he can stay clean and I hope he somehow stays in the NFL. I've always really liked Ainge.

Surprised a lot of this didn't get flushed out during screening before NFL draft. What is UT's current drug testing policy now? Just wonder what all they test for.

I lol at the crazy white boi tattoo but in all seriousness bipolar illness is very tough 2 deal with and hope Ainge remains clean.
