Well not this year...Because we still have Britton
I heard a rumor that to get him here we would have to let him at least TRY to punt...Some sort of deal Phil worked out with him...lol

Berry might be the best athlete on this team.

He may think the coaches need to do more to get the ball in his hands. Either returning punts, kicks, or play some WR. He's answered everthing he's been asked to do so far.

My buddies wife attends UGA she overheard talk of Knowshow Moreno saying how he would love to wear the orange and white. Thats just what i heard.

I doubt that is true, but however, I would take Berry over Moreno anytime. There are lots of good running backs, but a really, really good DB with pure talent like Berry don't come around that often. So I hope they don't decide to switch spots anytime soon. :) Berry for Heisman!

really? I don't see how they could do that. Still being on the team is a miracle.

exactly my point. if he's going so far as to keep him on the team, watch our punting be subpar in the first couple of games and then Phil has press conference in which we learn the BC has completed some program and Fulmer feels he's paid his penalty, blah, blah, blah

Completely ridiculous. Point to one time in Phil's career he has ever done this or something similar. Get outta here.

I dont consider it a stretch to wonder about an early reinstatement considering the fact he's still on the team.

I'll be surprised if he starts even after he's eligible to. Someone is going to win this job in August, and that person will be hard to unseat in the middle of the season.

Yes, it is.

does Phil pay you to be his apologist? the fact the BC is still on the team destroys Phil's credibility as a disciplinarian. So it logically follows that Phil will take the next step and further sacrifice his moral compass by reducing the laughable suspension.

it wouldnt surprise me to see Britton's suspension reduced

let's place a wager on it then. Winner picks the other's avatar for 1 week. :)

I don't think we'll see him on the field much at all anyway

Another thing to consider re: EB is the NFL restructuring in 2010. From what I hear/read, either there will be a significant diversion of salary from new signees to proven veterans as part of the new players' agreement, or there will be a strike in 2011. Any and every prospect who projects as a first rounder for the 2009 or 2010 draft will be advised to enter the draft and sign a contract ASAP before the new agreement kicks in.

I'm not an apologist for anyone. You're just being ridiculous in far fetched claims with no support of any kind. Plain and simple.

The situation is going to make the decision a lot easier for Juniors if it isn't resolved before then.

how is it far fetched? the guy is still on the team after a slew of substance abuse incidents right? so how is it far-fetched to think that Phil may once again exercise poor judgment in regard to this individual?

Has coach ever in his long career reduced a players suspension without including the steps required to reduce the duration clearly laid out in the punishment?

I'm with OWH, I doubt Britton ever sees the field again unless he is the only option left for kicking.

The upside is that it should affect most BCS conference schools evenly, although I could see a mass exodous of talent really drawing teams like USC back into the pack.
