Congrats to Eric Berry. I still love watching him play and it's great to see him continually getting recognition at the next level.

Chiefs safety Eric Berry made something out of nothing Sunday, so it only makes sense that he wins an award that has no tangible evidence like a plaque or a trophy attached to it.

Berry’s interception return for a touchdown sparked an amazing fourth-quarter comeback win for the Chiefs, so he was named AFC defensive player of the week.

Berry’s pick-six helped the Chiefs recover from a 17-0 deficit to steal the win in Charlotte, and his return was an impressive feat of zig-zagging through the Panthers offense which tried in vain to get him to the ground.

It’s the kind of performance the Chiefs have come to expect from their star safety, who has not only overcome cancer but returned to play at a very high level.

Also, if you didn't see it, Berry had a fantastic interception return, which was mentioned in the quote above.

I love Eric Berry but not going to lie it was hard sitting there in the stadium last Sunday watching him make that interception and score against my Panthers. My husband looked at me and said "Eric Berry, Eric Berry, Very Scary".

He is an incredible man, and he's more than deserving of the honor. Butch talks about making your own destiny, and I think Eric Berry truly exemplifies such.

I'm thankful that both he and his brothers came to UT.
