Eric Berry Slipping?

I hope his falls all the way to the Colts.
Crap, I just woke up from my dream.

The Brownies need you. Go Vols, Go Browns.
You exist! Browns fan do exist!!!:eek:lol:

I hope he slips! I'm still ticked off that he was more worried about his birthday bash and announcing on Twitter the day of the Chick-Fil-A Bowl than actually playing the game...

You also need a qb. So welcome Sam Bradford or Jimmy Clausen.

IMO, we skip on a QB this year, build an OL through draft/free agency and look for a new QB in 2011. If we draft Clausen, I am going to be unhappy.

But we need someone to compliment Landry and EB would be perfect.

True it really hasn't been the same since Taylor. I thought the skins would be projected to take a tackle first though since Samuels is done. Haha why are you not a Clausen fan?

I don't understand why I keep hearing that Berry is being looked at to play Corner. He is a pure safety. I also believe that McClain is the best LB in the draft. These players are "evaluated" too much and too in-depth. Sometimes you just have to look at results on the field, not draft a guy higher because he runs a 4.4 rather than a 4.5 (Al Davis).

how is he a pure safety?

He is too small, imo. I know I know a small qb just won the Super Bowl. Honestly... I would be more happy if we drafted Tebow to complement Campbell/Cooley/Davis (red zone package) in the later rounds than take Clausen. I like and think Dan Lafour (sp?) has a greater upside than Clausen. (Going out on a limb here)

I dunno, to be honest - well to be completely honest i wouldnt be surprised if the skins traded the pick. I think though that Shanahan is going to want to build the offense now, so you're going to see OL drafted first or one of the qbs if they turn out phenominal...don't forget that currently the FA market is going to be alot thinner this offseason

And from everything I hear, you need someone to replace Landry, not complement him :birgits_giggle:

3rd on Mel Kiper's latest mock draft, which came out today...I'd say Berry is fine.

People will continue to debate the merits of taking a safety so high, but Berry is an exception to any rule. He could be the next to join the class of true difference-makers at the safety position with the likes of Troy Polamalu, Ed Reed (the most frequent comparison) and Bob Sanders. Berry is outstanding in coverage and far more physical than his size would indicate.

Any small QB could win the super bowl if he went 3 straight quarters with a clean jersey, and taking his sweet ass time. Brees could stand in the pocket for 5 seconds without anybody even getting close to him. Not to take anything away from Brees, but once Freeney went out, the Colts had no chance of stopping the Saints.

Brees is small at 6'0, 209.
Clausen is 6'3, 223...
And Dan LeFevour is 6'3, 238 so he's almost exactly the same size...

Colt McCoy might be too small (and even that's debatable) but not Clausen...

Third to the Bucs. Or somebody should definitely be fired down there. I mean seriously, are they trying to get the team moved or something?

no it's just that - even if a player is as good as ed reed or eric berry - it's still really hard to justify taking a safety that high

part of it has to do with amount of involvement and immediate impact

oh there's a bunch of these with him; lots of missed tackles or like what the video showed

there's a great one too out there - i wish i could find it - he misses like 5 or 6 tackles throughout the game, and then he tackles a guy sometime in the 4th quarter and celebrates like he just won the Super Bowl :birgits_giggle:
