Eric Berry Slipping?

Sucks that he may play only one year before a lockout...in previous year a top 10 pick would get paid crazy money, not to say that a 3 year 10 million dollar contract isn't crazy money but by comparison it's not...hopefully there isn't a lockout in 2011.

Ah, Cleveland, where players go to die.

I'd like to see the Colts or Titans trade up to get him.

Unfortunately those are the two teams that almost never trade up

that said, the colts picks are too low to get a high pick without giving up a major player

and the titans dont have a 2nd round pick, so they cant really trade up high enough either

the combine is the most over-rated stupid part of the draft. Which is why it is the Raiders exclusive evaluation tool.....

actually no, going just based off a kid's college career is

and the Raider's tool is only looking at the 40-yard dash; they evaluate that number more than it should be and many times choose players based off of it

As much as the Chiefs need O linemen, I wouldnt complain if EB ended up sporting the Red and Gold.

I would like to see him go to the Titans or Colts, but if not the Ravens, Steelers, Jets or Saints would be fine. OR THE FALCONS!

those teams unfortunately are all much too low picks (falling to 32? really?)

unless eric like breaks his leg during workouts, he's not falling nearly that far

Please please please please please please please don't let him go to the Browns.

As a life long Bengals fan, must 2nd this motion!! Maybe my Bengals can bonk another teams' GM on the head and convince them a trade of our no.21 pick and Jordan Palmer (Carson's brother with identical height and weight) should work!! lol

You've hit the nail on the head. The whole thing is basically a subjective guess. Were it so cut & dry they wouldn't need a draft at all, the experts who publish drivel and ratings would just dole the incoming class out. The NFL draft being what it is, is why most every year we see kids that can't even start for their college teams like Arizona's Chris Henry go in the 1st round to the Titans. Then we see unheralded and late draft picks in the pro bowl just a a season or so after coming in to the league. It's like your local kid's or high school team, the coaches fall in love with some players and has to have them out front of more deserving & talented ones.

as a sidenote correction, henry was a 2nd round pick; the first round guy for them that year was michael griffin

that out of the way, yeah these are all pretty much guessing games, but i don't think this is from one of the expert sources...I'm not sure who "private screenings" are, but without a link, i have to assume it's another guy or small group of guys making mock drafts rather than any experts such as those on ESPN or SI who research these guys all their careers, watch their workouts, find out the team needs, search trends, and so on for an entire season

If Eric Berry ends up a Steeler, Patriot, Cowboy, Jaguar or Texan... I hope never wins another game. I'll be rooting for him to get into the hall of fame though but hopefully his interceptions returned for touchdowns go to waste.

In a dream world he'd be a Titan. In the real world, I'll settle for the Bucs.

everyone on that list who isn't the bucs is too low except maybe the jags, but it's doubtful they'd trade up for him

Well, i'd love to see EB go from Knoxville right west to Nashville. He'd look good in a Titans jersey. Plus i wouldn't have to drive nearly as far to see him play (West Tennessean here).

My Eagles need some help in the secondary...maybe a trade-up is in the cards.

hm that might be some possibility....the thing though would be finding a top 10 team that wants mcnabb, but they'd probably have to throw in their 1st or 2nd pick as well

the problem trading up that high and using mcnabb would be his age though

Eric Berry will drop before draft day. His combine numbers will be nothing special and teams freak out over that and end up making worse picks. He'll make a little less by dropping but be on a better team. Also lack of film of him playing the true safety position from last year could hurt him some but I can guarantee he'll slip some before draft day.

he'll drop a little but not much; he's got that same type of steady position that someone like leinart and cutler came in with, so if he drops it won't be very far

that said, his game film will be fine and his combine numbers and pro day workouts are more than likely going to be on the pretty to very good range

did he slip getting out of the shower? did he slip on a patch of ice? that is the only way eb slips. this article is retarded.
