You've hit the nail on the head. The whole thing is basically a subjective guess. Were it so cut & dry they wouldn't need a draft at all, the experts who publish drivel and ratings would just dole the incoming class out. The NFL draft being what it is, is why most every year we see kids that can't even start for their college teams like Arizona's Chris Henry go in the 1st round to the Titans. Then we see unheralded and late draft picks in the pro bowl just a a season or so after coming in to the league. It's like your local kid's or high school team, the coaches fall in love with some players and has to have them out front of more deserving & talented ones.I understand that a guy could slip after posting disappointing combine numbers or getting into trouble. That said, the number of guys that seem to move up and down in the draft for no apparent reason seems a little silly to me.
