I don't really know what to say. But pure class seems to really sum it all up.

Thanks for posting.

BigOrangelov,

Thanks for sharing this. Eric is certainly a class act and a credit to himself and UT. I am sure Eric's family and friends are very proud of this fine young man!

good read and a wonderful man. Thanks EB for consistently being a great role model.

I miss him in orange already. He is an amazing guy. I'd say I wished all athletes were like him, but then it wouldn't be so special to have someone like him. We need to keep EB involved in the Vol family, so that future players can follow his example:

You can be aggressive and dominant on the field and remain humble and grounded off of it.

Every time Berry does something like this, his legacy grows even more. Man we were lucky to have him. The Vols could potentially have the most recognized offensive and defensive players in the league between him and Manning in a few short seasons. Many have talked the talk, but few have walked the walk like Berry does.

Absolute Class. Its nice to see not all NFL players half to be like Vic and squander the gifts they have been given. We were blessed to have him on our team.

He was one of, if not the only, bright spot during one of the worst times in UT history. I have nothing but respect for EB and hope we'll see him in orange again after his playing days are over.

Gotta also give it up for James Berry - he raised Eric the right way

I was just about this post this same thought when I saw you beat me to it.

This is especially appropriate given the number of absentee fathers around this country. James was out there before working the night shift, and his sons are reaping the benefits of his dedication--not just financially but in far more important ways.

I haven't seen Berry play yet this pre-season. Is he on the field much? Starter?

Starter. Will likely start every game this year. Hasn't done a whole lot to get noticed in the preseason, but that's pretty tough to do as a safety.

The best thing EB could do is convince his brothers to wear orange.

I've heard people say that the next one coming up was better in 8th grade than EB was in 8th grade. Haven't heard much since then, and i'm sure he's a sophmore or junior now. Anybody know how he's progressing???

My son bought an authentic game jersey. He asked me to post it for all to see.

there are some threads on them in the recruiting section. Should be good info in there for the next few years

Absolutely! It all starts at home. Eric's parents deserve a ton of credit for the way they brought him up.
