Called Kicking it with Eric Berry on ESPN....

MY FAVORITE PART

Where might we see you on offense this year?

EB: At quarterback. I did it some in the spring, under center and in the shotgun. In high school, we ran the triple-option, so the reads were easy.

I think that one of the most impressive things about Eric Berry is the fact that this young man wants to be a dentist one day. He has a great head on his shoulders.

All the cool kids are dentists... :)

I HOPE that in a year where D will be critical coming off of a year where the D was the worst in about 20 years... they don't put their best defensive player on O. The drop off from him to his backup it this point is significant.

I think I really, really like this:

With Dave Clawson taking over the offense, how much different do those guys look?

EB: I see a lot of new stuff. This summer, while we were doing our individual stuff, they had a lot of crazy stuff in there. If you pick something to do (defending it), you're going to be wrong regardless. That's the thing I've picked up on. I might break on one route, and the wide receiver is turning it into something else and now I'm mad because I was covering this route and thought I had it and he's turning it into something else ... and I'm (peeved).

Do you want to play on special teams this year?

EB: Yeah, I want to block for Dennis Rogan (on punt returns). That's our goal this year. We want to get Rogan to the house. I told him, 'We're going to take care of the other stuff. You've just got to get past the punter this year.' I joke with him about that all the time. He'll shake DBs and make a linebacker miss, but he gets to the punter and freezes up. I'm like, 'Rogan, come on, man.'

I seriously laughed outloud on this one. Wow. :lolabove:

Awesome, more EB clones, both twins? i'm seriously giddy. The Berry family might replace the Manning as best in CFB

Replacing two SEC QB's, brothers, with Super Bowl rings, not to mention their legend Pop...nevermind...this isn't even worth:fool: a response.

Scared of horses?
What will he do against Wyoming? :)
Maybe it's just me but for a young man to admit his fears, it shows his confidence. He sounds like a well rounded confident yet self aware player. Too much cockyness if you ask me in a player is talking himself into being tough hiding fear and insecurity, and If I'm an O coordinator reading this interveiw I'm thinking hmm....uh-oh.

I was kidding a/b the manning thing, seriously i was. The Manning is the best football family ever. But seriously i love this kid. He is amazing. My favorite UT player since watching UT football in 2001.

I would like him to return some kicks and punts, every time he intercepts it you think he will take to the house. He is probably one of the best FS in CFB and he is only a sophmore. I think Berry can stop the pass and McCoy can stop the run for 3 more years.
