He’s not talking about the secondary market. All the schools count is what’s sold through the school. Now the tickets in Stubhub and others are sometimes 5-10 times higher than the actual face value of the ticket. For example I found 3 tickets on ticket master for the Vandy game on Saturday. Each ticket was for $125 a seat plus fees and taxes. After fees and taxes the final price for the tickets was $497 for 3 tickets. Tickets that are posted on secondary markets have already been purchased. That’s how you get a sold out game and see seats that are empty.Vivid seats and stubhub still have plenty available
Didn't have to worry about that tonight with that crappy camera angleSold out unfortunately differs from capacity crowd. Too many empty seats every home game due to season ticket holders not in attendance AND not donating/selling their tickets.
It’s really rather embarrassing to see all the empty seats from the center field camera shot.
Will we still get first dibs on the opportunity to purchase regional tickets, at the same number of season tickets we hold?
How is not having tickets to sell later because you sold all of them previously a potential loss of revenue? They maximized their revenue at an early date. They now have a complete understanding of staffing level needs and can stop advertising, so they maximized revenue and possibly reduced expenses and maximized efficiency of staff. The only loss of revenue is not having more stadium capacity, which cannot be rectified in a short time period.I love that for the team and the University but, not having seats available for fans the day of the game is kinda sad. Seems like a loss of potential revenue. I hope we are also receiving big bucks from ESPN/SECN for the increase in viewers and their commercial revenue. Just very thankful UT Baseball is doing so well, other sports are trending upwards, and I can watch 3-4 games a week. Go Vols!
