Enough with the excuses!

Seven wins ONLY if we beat UF and UM at home.

The only road game UT wins this year will be at Candy. Mark it down. People think because we beat USC and Almost beat UGA that those will be probable wins this year. Think again. Winning on the road in the SEC is very tough unless you are playing in Lexington or Nashville (and Tennessee had managed to lose in both places to my dismay). These players are really really young. Wins on the road I just dont see coming except for one.

Exactly. We haven't won a road game outside of those two schools in SEVEN years.

They are dealing with the worst QB situation that we've seen in nearly 30 years. Both lines are brand new and the players arent that good (by SEC standards). Wins on the road I just dont see coming except for one.

We have legit chances to beat OU and Ole miss.

Fulmer likely would not have had a winning record with the team he left Kiffin. For all of Kiffin's very, very obvious flaws... they did a good job that season of getting every ounce out of that team.

Fulmer would have no more been IN that Bama game than he was the previous two meetings with Saban in charge. Remember, that was the 14-0 DOMINANT Bama NC team. They were BETTER than the previous two squads that had manhandled Fulmer.

You really want to try to give Fulmer credit for Dooley's first team? There was no QB on that team signed by Fulmer. The OL was a patchwork of new players and leftovers that probably shouldn't have ever started for UT. The best RB left was Poole. There were no DT's left from Fulmer and DL quality/depth was critically low.

In short, that roster was an absolute mess. You don't have to give Dooley credit but Chaney and Wilcox did an excellent job.

Again there was enough talent after PF was fired for LK to win 7 EVEN WITH CROMPTON AS QB. Two recruiting classes should have kept us from having 3 losing season. Blaming PF for anything that happen after 2010 is just damn silly.

And the reason DD didn't have a QB isn't on CPF it is on LK kicking Boyd to the curb. That Poole was the guy isn't on PF either. . .we did sign Bryce Brown.

.

Due to style, I think Spurrier will always be vulnerable to Jones. Take a look when you have some time. I don't think Ole Miss is quite the monster yet that people think either. Oxford is one of the least intimidating SEC places to play.

Going back to Fulmer "we're a young team" and his banter with "the next recruiting class" to Dooleys "we're young bla bla bla" Now, we have Butch following the same pattern! Well, those players should be parents of Jr. High kids by now and all these great recruits should be winning us NCs! No more year zero and other slogans because as of last year Butch and the team got rung all season long beginning with Oregan and let GA off the hook and that's not counting the loss against Fla. I say no more excuses and no more pumping sunshine!

This is surely a post that will be revisited come November!

Just read again in the paper where he is bla bla bla about the "youth" and "you wont be able to tell it but they will be improving"! Enough!!

I keep reading about the OU/Bama game wasn't a fluke last year. I seem to recall a certain year....oh let's call it 2008 when Bama went undefeated in the regular season, lost the SEC title game and got throttled by Utah in the Sugar Bowl. Yes, Utah...from the Mountain West Conference at the time. So, the way I see it, Bama was still feeling the hurt from the Auburn loss, just like the loss in 2008 for the SEC title. Big let downs in both games. I'm not saying OU is not a legit top notch team by any means, but I think they caught Bama sleeping a little bit. Will youth hurt us at times this year, more than likely. However, that same youthful team will provide some much needed TALENT that we haven't had or seen on the field in quite some time now. I'll take talent over experience this year based on the last three years!

Not only that, Coach Jones has already stated in an interview after an earlier practice that this team WILL NOT use youth as an excuse.

Wow, we should just go ahead and fire the man now according to you! I mean he's already said he wasn't going to use youth as an excuse for this team, but you must have missed that interview after practice. I mean, a top 5 recruiting class just doesn't cut for you huh? How dare they even use the word youth! We should start giving out lashings for everyone on the coaching staff who even starts to say a word that begins with Y. Everybody knows that these 17 and 18 year old kids should be able to come in and play in the SEC without ever playing a down of collegiate level football right? Is that what you're getting at? Dude, go take a Prozac and chill the F&*K out! There's a HUGE difference in making excuses and talking about a group of highly talented Freshman (the likes that UT hasn't seen in a while) that they are trying to get coached up to play in a few short weeks.

So, is this CBJ's year 0 then because of all these "talented youth" he has coming in. I think it's funny he said he wasn't going to use it as an excuse but by stating that, that is exactly what he did!

And so according to you..Butch is already on the hot-seat, is that correct. If this program is gonna progress we are going to have to give him some time.. He's no Dooley. He is selling this program and as fans we need to all buy in.. That's my take.

I hope you are either drunk or joking because a sober, rational man wouldn't make this post. This team has nowhere near the experienced talent to do much this year. We are outgunned by over half the teams on our schedule. This is what happens when you are in a massive rebuilding program.

Oh come on man. Are you still hung up on Dooley? He's been gone for a while now. Let it go! Let me guess, you must have been one of those guys that were absolutely positive that Gruden was going to be the new Head Ball Coach there in Knoxville. You were probably so unbelievably pissed that it didn't happen that no matter who they brought in, it wasn't going to be good enough. Here is some news for you.....The University of Tennessee got this hire RIGHT! All the man has ever done as a head coach is win. Go ahead and tell me how he was riding the coat tails of Brian Kelly. Go ahead and tell me he hasn't coached at a major school or in a major conference. Go ahead and point to all of that and then I will point to the win/loss column. The man is a winner. His record speaks for itself. He's also put in more work in the last year than either of the two clowns that preceded him. That's been proven from the ....dare I say...YOUTH that he's been able to recruit to come to a program that has been beat down to a level that is unprecedented in Knoxville. He's been here for one season so I think a little latitude from this fan base is in order. He knows how to win, unlike the last two poor excuses for head coaches this program has had. Will they have a SEC title winning year, no they won't. Will they have a good enough season to go bowling...with enough good breaks possibly. Give the man a break. He's bringing us back from the dead and it's going to take a minute or two.

This thread has more likes than Quakers got oats! Anyway, youth is a concern when they aren't talented and the Dools knew he was out recruited .

42 guys who have never played a college snap, that's just the Frosh and red shirts from last year. This does not include upper classmen who haven't played much.

Don't like the word "young", maybe "woefully inexperienced" has a nice ring to it.

Reading this reminds me of how much bigger cfb players are now

OU caught Bama watching the paint dry. They were not as good as Bama and if that game was played 10 more times, Bama beats them 10/10. I hate Bama but if anyone actually thinks OU is a better team are deluding themselves.

Just needs to get at least 6 wins and play competitively. That will keep recruits believing.
I keep saying that 6 wins are right there, 3 OOC cupcakes, VD, KY and Mizzou AT Home. Rest is gravy, including a possible bowl win.

Where does this negativity come from? An Alabama fan in drag? Listen, dude, we are about to embark on what could be a break through season for our football team after a bunch of bummers. The fans and the players need optimism not a BS statement like yours!
