I don't often post threads, heck I rarely post replies despite watching most posts on this board. When I do I try to make sure it means something. Some of this has been stated before...regardless...here goes.
I get it, I get that it's frustrating to see our team down so low. I get that it's even harder to see a team like Florida do well. Unfortunately for us we are in a big hole here. Fortunately for us... We have all of the pieces of the puzzle either already here or en route within the next few years.
Coach Pruitt may not have ever taken on a head coaching position. His coordinators and position coaches may not have either. What they do have? Is a huge list of accomplishments and achievements very few teams in the country can stack up against.
That list?
1-Seven national championships
2-21 conference championships
3-Over 50 NFL Draft Selections
4-Over 75 All-Americans
And Over 50 years of experience in the Sec combined
I know everyone is tired of losing... Especially our coaches who have really never been on the receiving side of losses like this. We aren't cursed. Our athletic department made stupid decisions one after another until the day they pulled Fulmer back into the fold.
If you think that the coaches aren't doing everything they can to make this team better every single minute of every day; you truly need to look at the facts.
They are having to break a losing mentality that has been coached and programmed into them for most of these guys. If you've never been an athlete you've probably never seen or experienced what a confidence level can change in performance.
The bad habits have to be ousted, broken, and retaught. Psychologically it takes 90 days to break a bad habit, this team realistically hasn't even been training together under coach for that long.
This is retraining mentality, physicality, teamwork, effort, and confidence. Anyone who expected this to be an overnight ordeal hasn't looked at what Butch did to this team. Look at how much he underachieved with the talent he had in his grip. It's nothing short of incompetence and training a losing mentality.
I come from a background of training mixed martial artists. I know the trained losing mentality and its incredibly hard to break then form correct habits.
I'm a general manager for a restaurant now, I was brought in because of this same mentality. My track record was an assistant manager for years who had success everywhere I went. I came into a disaster of a place. Terrible service, no processes being performed correctly, no organization. It took me 6 months to get the right staff in place and almost another 6 to get where I wanted them to be.
Point is that this was every single day with these people. Every day repeating the same things, riding their tails, stepping on toes, pushing them.
We want to win? Give coach time. Stop complaining about it. We know it sucks. We can literally do nothing about it but wait. The staff will right the ship...honestly I don't think anyone can if this doesn't work out. We can't find a much better all around staff than what's been assembled here.
