Enormous Offensive Line

Enormous doesn't always = great.

Look at all the jelly rolls that Fulmer had on the OL that underachieved. This was actually something I agreed with Kiffin on when he got here. He wanted lighter, more athletic linemen.

I'm curious as to how much strength improvement they have made through McKeefery (spell). I think this guy is going to make a huge difference in our folksparticularly year 2 and 3.:dance2:

Don't know anything with certainty but word has been that the S&C coach has been really getting guys in shape. Even players have mentioned how they can't get away with stuff they got away with when we had Bennie Wylie. hope people on this board who know far more of this than I can hope to know answer you. But again, from what I've heard the coach is really bringing these boys along and you can see the results. The pictures I saw from camps and practices shows we've really buffed players, even Bray looked stouter than last year.

I remember when coach Cut came back he wanted the lineman to be more in shape and drop a few pounds.

in Fulmer's last several years as coach--and most of them were very mediocre. There was talk a couple of years about downzing the lines and getting them more fit. It's not hard to find big guys--finding big guys who can move and are tough and can block, THAT's the issue. Weight is necessary--but there are plenty of other factors that factor into whether someone is a good blocker or not.

John Hannah is arguably the best OL to ever play the game and that guy was at most 275 lbs.

I think the OP was pointing out that we are not "undersized" on OL as we have been in the past, which is good.
Obviously OL blocking has a lot to do with technique and not just size.

With that said, I want to see the 6'6" 340 guy at fullback on short yardage. Bray fakes to him up the middle, and hits Hunter on quick post. Give him SIX!!:rock::rock:
