We had 98,000 Vol fans yesterday. Saw a lot of younguns who were attending their first game and many alumni who had been at the last Tech game. Never gets old.
I wonder how many Negavols were there yesterday? Not many I bet, maybe they were the ones booing with a 35-0 lead. Truth probably is most of the Negavols have never put their money where their mouth is and actually gone to a game.

The thing is, the negavols are actually a very small minority but they are the loudest of them all

Considering all the bad luck and lackluster performance last week and a really weak opponent it was amazing that we loaded the stadium up that well.

I think this was a big part of the energy our team displayed yesterday.

Seriously, it makes negavols proud when you start threads with us in mind. Thanks.

I was there. Yes the crowd was better than I expected but the atmosphere was dead before the game. Sure some of it was the opponent but it just didn't have the exciting feel. It should be better this Sat against a better team and both have something to play for besides a check or scrimmage

Another third grader talking about quote "Negavols". Go back to school!

I thought it was encouraging to see the players appear to be having fun on the sidelines. There were many times that I would look down and Jennings was dancing and having a ball on the sideline. I'm sure most of that was due to the commanding lead, but these are 18-21 year olds that are playing a game. They deserve to have fun and hopefully this game will be the spark they need to finish the season off strong.

3 straight losses, and the loss of many of the fans favorite player will do that. They made an emotional investment in Jalen Hurd. He was considered as a family member to die hard fans, just like every other player. And him quitting cut those folk to the quick.

Crowd was better than expected to show support to the players still here. But the enthusiasm being subdued? I expected that.

This X1000.

I had 4 tickets in K and due to a family thing had to leave after seeing TD #1. Took 3 friends from out of town (OH and NY) and was embarrassed by the pregame hype. No energy, no fire, no participation. Have been to HS games with better crowds.

Did you hear the ovation that John Kelly got from the crowd when the starters were announced? I'd say fans moved on from Hurd pretty fast.

I was there and the ovation Kelly received speaks volumes about how true VOL fans support the team.
The place absolutely erupted when he broke the 73 yd TD run.

We were saying the same thing about deathly silent it was walking to the stadium (and our parking lot was nearly empty too). Glad to see a nice crowd though and happy to see team just take care of business in what amounts to a mid season scrimmage

Crowd started out strong... it was embarrassing how many fans "quit"... I mean left early. Just saying...

I thought the crowd was great, student section was disappointing. That probably explains some of the lack of energy.
