#EmptyNeyland?

Empty Neyland is perhaps the most moronic idea I have heard here on these forums. What do you think that would possibly do for the program? Ill tell you exactly what it will do, lose recruits and allow our biggest rivals to use Neyland as a home game which would be used against the Vols in recruiting. Complain all you want, hell go visit the football complex and wave a sign that says something demeaning and obnoxious so our football team can see it. But #emptyneyland just pours more salt on the wound that is Tennessee football.
I'm pretty sure the product on the field will kill recruiting before attendance issues get involved. More Kool AId for you!

I'm not sure this will happen. Did you see how many people showed up for the BYU game? 86,208 showed up for Chattanooga and that was a noon game.
That was announced attendance — actual was a lot lower

I see many many tickets for sale each week with the numbers increasing week to week. I have also noticed this new-fangled scheme the AD came up with...Vol Pass? To try to cover and hide the lack of season ticket renewals.

I can tell you this. I usually go to about 3 home games a year and I’m not wasting my money this year to go to one. If I get some freebies, maybe. But I’m not wasting a whole Saturday, and paying to watch trash on the field.

I will be there for the Georgia game.

I will support Tennessee football.

It stinks, but it will come to an end. Hopefully soon, but it will come to an end eventually. I want to be someone who can truly say I stuck with the team through all the bad years.

If there are more bad years to come, so be it. I will be a fan. If we turn if around next year, great! If not, it won't stop me from being a fan.

If Pruitt isn't the guy, so be it. I will be a fan.
Are you a season ticket holder? Do you donate to the athletic department? If not, it doesn’t matter if you are a fan or not. Neyland can be empty as long as the tickets are sold. Not buying season tickets and loss of donations is what will get attention.

Don’t be THAT GUY, no need to empty the stadium. Go for the tradition, go for the band, go for the good of the program. You accomplish nothing trying to empty a stadium.
They need our money to assist in paying the inevitable buyout of the coaches contracts.

This is more and more the truth. I had season tickets for 20 years and gave up. It’s just not worth it to pay all that money and get nothing in return. Plus, I can go to games for free now since people just give tickets away. I live 7 miles away from the stadium and wouldn’t buy season tickets again.
With the many options for entertainment increasing, the game of football could lose an entire generation of fans. Decades of losing football could lead to empty seats at all games for the foreseeable future. If you don't capture the imagination and loyalty of young people will they ever become fans?

Don't worry fans will get tired of seeing a team go through the motions while showing no Pride in themselves or the team

I will be there and every game after that..... it’s pitiful that some of our fans would do otherwise.

That’s what the administration wants you to do because they know fans like you will still show up to watch this garbage.

As long as they’re getting their money worths, they don’t care about the wins.

If we don’t take action, they won’t either.

They will.
They think this is their natty season.
Could be. Who knows. So does every other team in the top 10.

I’m not saying anything about another team until we field a serviceable unit once again. I just know they travel very very well.

if JG starts, i'll sell.

if someone else starts, less likely I sell but prob will anyway. i'd rather recoup 60% of a continuously declining asset while still possible

This thread is becoming a yearly tradition.
Apparently, there is some kind of merit badge you can earn if you say "I'm not wasting my money on this" even if you never had intentions to spend money.

Meanwhile, a kid in Florida loves Tennessee just because it's Tennessee.

Does going to several basketball games a year make up for it? I'm not spending my money(it still is a lot of money to me)to watch the wrong side of a blowout just to say I was there
What does basketball have to do with going to Neyland?

I was a season ticket holder in FF for years, I don’t attend anymore. Gave them up, now instead of spending all that money taking family to watch pathetic football I use it to take the family to do much more fun things. I know plenty of people who got rid of their uga tix after BYU loss. It’s only going to get uglier as the season goes on.
I get it. Priorities change. But I'm not asking about that. I'm asking how many people already spend their money for tickets, and they are gonna keep their seat empty just to protest.
