Why do we continue to run empty set backfields? After the OK and UGA games you would think our OC would realize our OL is not good enough to go with the empty sets.

I've been wondering this for the last few games myself. Two freshmen on the right side, getting eaten alive play after play, and we refuse to even keep a back in to chip. Among all the calls that I feel are questionable , this is number 1. I'm afraid it's a result of the coaches not being willing to adapt to the team's limitations. I hope that attitude changes quickly.

Number two on the gripe list are the predictable runs on first down. So tired of 2 and 9.

Meshing what you have talent wise to be successful is not rocket science. TE/FB in backfield blocking for Hurd on runs and can still go out for passes after chipping defense player is not rocket science. Maybe for some it is or just to Damn stubborn to change a little.

I just don't see the point of us running an empty set. I will say with that being said. Worley has to get the ball out sooner. On the play with the fumble. The ball should have already been thrown.

It really doesn't matter how we line up or what play we call when our oline is getting blown up on about all of them. A bad offensive line in this league will get exposed weekly.

In his defense I don't think out WR's were open. He can't throw it to nobody. I think they defended us pretty good. One of the most disappointing things about yesterday was how they abused our best part of our offense. Leads me to believe we are no where near as talented at WR as we originally thought. For instance, I don't see any of our guys doing what miss or miss state WR's did yesterday.

I am disappointed because we lost, also because there was not the aggressiveness and zip we had been displaying. At the outset of this season many conceded we might have a tough time because of our young OL. It really showed against FL and our other inexperience just compounded on that. Good QB, bad QB, whichever Worley got hit and rushed to the extent it appeared that there were a number of open paths to him on each play. I personally think we would have enough offense to score 21 points if the OL would have Just slowed somebody down. They are still my VOLS and I am confident they will get better and do some payback.GO VOLS

Great comment!! I agree! Worley only knows to look to the sideline for guidance. He is one of those people that crashes and burns when he feels pressure and lacks the ability to make quick decisions. When he finally makes a decision under pressure it winds up as a disaster.

I can agree with the WR's may not have helped him much. Although you cant keep taking sacks. You have two huge targets throw it up for them. That is the reason we have them. Not to mention on the play of the fumble he had 10-15 yards of open space to run. You dont have to be blazing fast to get a couple yards up the field. I actually quit watching the game when that play happened knowing what was gonna happen after that play.
