Assuming that we do not sign a quarterback in the 2014 class, Butch will no doubt push the petal to the metal in pursuit of an elite quarterback in the 2015 class. Based on existing threads, I have identified the seven prospects listed below. You recruitniks can undoubtedly flesh out this list:

Kevin Dillman, Pro-style QB. Ht: 6-4, Wt. 205. La Miranda, CA (La Miranda High School).

Torrance Gibson, Dual-Threat Quarterback. Ht: 6-4, Wt: 195. Fort Lauderdale, FL (American Heritage).

Kyle Kearns, Pro-style quarterback. Ht: 6-3, Wt: 184. Pleasanton, California (Foothill).

Lorenzo Nunez, Dual-Threat Quarterback. Ht: 6-2.5, Wt: 183. Kennesaw, GA (Harrison).

Tyler Queen, Pro-Style Quarterback. Ht: 6-2.5, Wt: 233. Kennesaw, GA (North Cobb).

Josh Rosen, Pro-Style Quarterback. Ht: 6-4, Wt: 205. Bellflower, CA (St. John Bosco HS).

Jarrett Stidham, Dual-threat quarterback. Ht:6-2, Wt:188. Stephenville, Texas (Stephenville HS).

My questions are as follows:

(1) At this point in time, who are the most highly rated QB prospects in 2015?

(2) Which quarterbacks are, in your opinion, best suited for Butch’s offense?

(3) By indications to date, which quarterbacks are Butch’s staff pursuing most heavily?

(4) Which quarterbacks are expressing the greatest interest in Tennessee?

(5) By indications to date, which quarterbacks do we have the best chances of signing?

(6) Will Butch be satisfied with one quarterback in this class or will he attempt to sign two?

Not a guru, but my early impressions are Stidham and Kearns are getting the relationship building full court press...Rosen,at this point,is more polished but most likely a West Coast fixture..Butch will offer EVERY ONE of these prospects with the express intent of landing two...my two cents is that Queen might end up the best whilst being the closest in proximity...not to mention the easiest take :twocents:

Stidham and call it a day. Keep recruiting dual threats til we land one that can play

I'd love to see us go for the kid in our own back yard, Jauan Jennings. The kid has unlimited potential. Just has to prove he can become more accurate as a passer. He has a very strong arm and is electric as a runner. Also, if he doesn't make it as a quarterback, he will be an elite safety. No matter who we go after, I think running the type of offense Butch wants to run, we need to get a dual threat quarterback.

After watching this offense I don't think it requires a dual threat to be explosive. I think it can be adapted.

Only if the guy is a good to very good thrower. Like any offense, you need the best passer possible.

QB Jarrett Stidham Stephenville, TexasStephenville 6'2" 188 N/A 4 stars 6.0

Is the guy I want, he's not a Texas guy, he lived in Kentucky for 8 years and Texas the last 8 years, still has family in Kentucky that they visit often. Stephenville has preduced some very nice QB's over the years, Kevin Kolb, Jevean Snead, Brandon Stewart (Tenn then A&M) and several others.

Jauan Jennings if not Stidman at Duel Threat

Also watch out for In-State prospect and a name you'll hear about more and more Lancaster QB Matt Williams

I believe we'll take 2 next year unless we flip Mcclendon this year from N.C. State, and depending on how many QBs are on scholarship heading in to next year (attrition?).

Lotta useless posts on here. OP put together a good summary and asked some good questions that several of us are interested in.

1.) Ricky Town (committed to UA), Stidham, Nunez, Rosen, Gibson is a 5 ***** on 247. We are interested in Queen but he's committed to AU.

2.) This offense can function with either Pro Style or Dual threat. But IMO, a dual threat would be best to maximize this offense's potential. I think Stidham best fits this offense IMO.

3.) In the summer, we had Nunez and Stidham on campus so Bajakian could evaluate them. We ended up offering both. But we were more impressed with Stidham. I think we will cherry pick who we want. David Sills is another name to keep an eye on. He is HS teammates with Neiko Creamer. And there is mutual interest there.

4.) That's a tough question. It's real early. I think Stidham likes the Vols. Kearns is interested but I'm not sure where he falls on the board. I hope we keep in contact with Nunez. Matt Williams is an instate kid to keep an eye on. He's putting up good numbers and will probably camp next summer so his stock should rise a good deal.

5.) Just like 4, this is tough to put a stamp on. It's so early. However, if we are able to get a highly talented QB on board quick, the 2015 class will blow the 2014 class out of the water.

6.) I think we are mainly looking at one. Because we have Peterman, Worley, Dobbs, and Riley. You would think one might transfer but you never know. But if the situation arises that Stidham and Nunez want on board... Can you take 1 and turn one down? Tough decision.

Hope this helps.

We need to get Jauan Jennings on the field, doing...something, even if it's not QB. Like someone said, he'll be an excellent prospect in a few different spots and Ohio State is after him hard right now. Even if he does end up at safety here, I can picture some nice wildcat packages with him throwing it.
