Trump won because of a surge in the white vote. Nothing else.

He proved to be a genius by seeing that an openly racist message was still good enough to win the presidency.

No. He was smart enough to recognize the anger in middle class Americans, regardless of color, and capitalize on it.

What I can't stand about it is a state like California has an incredible amount of power when it would come to voting.

The big thing to think of is the larger amount of sovereignty that states had before the civil war. I don't like the system now with our very heavily federalist government, but I can see why it was done the way it was. The states would have pitched a fit if they didn't get their individual say on the presidency.

I am trying to wrap my head around what a Trump Presidency would be. Obamacare is gone, I know that. We will almost certainly have tax cuts. The Supreme Court will stay conservative for who knows how long. Beyond that I don't know. Will Trump feud with the Republicans in Congress? What will foreign policy look like? I admit it, I am terrified.

I think Trump would actually be a lot more "Democrat" than he let on during the campaign. I see this election as Democrat A vs Democrat B.

My gut feeling is a lot of trump voters have made their image of him something unrealistic.

Same with Hillary. It was Moderate A vs Moderate B. She's not nearly as liberal as she pretended to be

I try to tell myself no matter what it'll work out. That's what we are based on. Checks and balances, ability to veto, so on and so forth. I think if anything we're to get TOO bad something would happen. I would hope.

I don't think any international media is going to look on a possible Trump presidency as a good thing. Their conservatives are closer to our liberals.
