I’m starting to think that CTV going to the MLB just enhanced and cemented the BaseVols brand as one of the true elite teams in college baseball.

Could very well be a blessing in disguise. I say we don’t skip a beat with Elander at the helm. I mean he just stole Florida’s interim coach to be his assistant, so the kids aren’t the only ones who believe in him.

I love Elander, but saying losing the coach that brought us our first ever natty in baseball and took us to the CWS 3 times is a blessing in disguise is a bit of a stretch.

That said, I agree with you on Elander, I think he's going to do great things here just like Tony did.

I think my post came off wrong. Not that I’m happy about Tony leaving at all, but him being named to a MLB position at a storied franchise definitely brings good press to the Tennessee baseball program. I’m pretty confident that Elander can keep the train rolling as he’s not only held the 2026 recruiting class together, he’s had zero transfers, added a great coach to his staff, and is on fire with the 2027 class so far.

Just looking at things as a class half full type of scenario. Tony V gave the program life, I think that Elander will continue the legacy.
