Either We Are Going To Support UT Or We Are Not

My sexual life has nothing to do with the ability to see that Derek Dooley is not a good hire. I'm here to talk UT sports, not how much sex I get or do not get. Are you going to question how much sex 95% of VN is getting since that's the number of legit posters who think this is a bad hire?

And actually, go look at my posts and I said that Kiffin would be gone once Carroll left. I didn't think it would be one year, but yes, techinally, I called that one.

It must be true. You never get laid. Hold it though...I'm getting something....After 3-5 bad years of not getting any you will break through after you lower your standards to gutter-snipes.

See. I can make outrageous predictions as well.

Is Alabama an NFL team? NO? Well I guess you don't know what you're talking about then, because Saban was Bama's coach in 2007. If you're going to make fun of somebody you should at least know what you're talking about.

Saban was at Alabama the '07 season, however it was freaking Louisiana MONROE rather the Louisiana TECH that embarrassed my beloved Tide.

I care about this University, enough to actually care who we hire. I also have the nerve to stand up for something that MY University does that I don't agree with. I don't just follow along blindly and applaude mediocrity.

I think we all care who is hired. If we didn't we wouldn't be on this board.

Your post implies that we can change who is hired and have an influence on the decisions made.

Btw, I also highly highly doubt ANYONE on this board applaudes mediocrity.

I dont really know anything about this guy. So until I do know I will support him. One thing I do know is my wifes family are all barners. Last year they were all blah over the Chizik Hiring and today they freakin love the guy (with good reason). So maybe we luck out and get a good coach in Dooley by accident. GO VOLS!!

YOUR university?

Are you currently a student, alumni, or member of faculty or staff?

If so, you can say that. If not, goodbye.

I'll root for Dooley until he's shown the door. I'll criticize him until I see a good reason not to.

Wrong f'ing attitude. You haven't even heard the guy speak. I will support him until it is time to criticize him.

Then why are there still people here acting like they'll bail if we hire a certain guy?

They're not bandwagon fans and they're not going to bail. They're just sick and tired of this **** and I understand them. They will probably stop following football as seriously but will still cheer for the Vols. Some people who rarely follow football will stop supporting Tennessee football, but those people won't be found on a message board. I'm not a Tennessee fan, but trust me these are the facts.

Here's the thing go. You have never seen me or met me. You can't base anything on that.

I've seen Dooley coach. I've seen the resume. It's not good. Yet we are still hiring this guy.

what a load of crap count. i will always watch and root for my vols. i will not pay good money to go watch them play when i know they have no chance to win. the first thing that needs to be done is to remove hamilton, which if we had a president i believe would have already have happened. as for coach, hammy needed to make a huge splash to have any chance of us having a winning season in the next 5 years. and he whiffed again. regardless i will root for my vols, but you thinking by rooting for them is going to make them win more game you are crazy. tennessee football is dead for atleast 7 years. that is just the way it is, you might as well deal with it, or live in fantasyland. it's up to you

I have always been a Vol and I always will be a Vol and I reserve the right to disagree with the hire .I have supported the Vols for a long time and I will as long as I am breathing so dont try to call me a bandwagon fan . I will be in the stands cheering for the Vols next year win or lose . We just settled for mediocrity and I really don't care what the koolaid drinkers on here think

Yes he had a bad season last year. However, he won a bowl game the year before? If i remember correctly that puts him with a more recent bowl game then Tennessee, and with one more than Lane Kiffin. Also add on recruiting for Saban when they won the national championship. He also has NFL experience. Sounds like a someone we can take a chance on to me...

B/c most people are afraid of what they don't know or understand. They don't know Dooley, haven't heard much about him and are scared of the future with him. Just like anything involving change emotions run high. I welcome Coach Dooley to UT and am excited to see how he motivates the troops this winter/spring/summer and gets them ready for battle.

Good luck CDD and welcome to UT!:)

The hate for Dooley is unwarranted. It's not his fault he got offered the job.

But feeling uncertain about a coach who went 17-20 in the WAC is rational.

Seriously, why the hate?

For real, dude!! Gawd, we dodged a major bullet by not getting Cutcliffe. We need to saying prayers of thanks to the football gods right now.....

I say it's great to be a Tennessee Vol....Oh yes, it's great to be a Tennessee Vol!!!

Give him a chance--good background of experience and he's done well. He's in another league now but let's give him a fighting chance.

Go Coach Dooley!! (I've never said that before)
