I can roll with that. I am just not sure there is a huge difference between Dooley and Kippy. Kippy has the TN ties which is appreciated and many NFL years. I believe he did call the plays on a team that won zero games. Dooley followed Saban around so obviously I dont know.

There are other options besides Derek Dooley. Hamilton can't afford to go into full-out panic mode. This class is screwed anyway. Don't hire a guy so you can have him in by Sunday. Make the right decision.

Name the other realistic options and I will pick them apart one by one. It is easy to find fault with any of these candidate.

Jantzen Jackson would not have played in a bowl game if DD was your coach. Nor will he media whore every 15 minutes he thinks the camera isn't looking at him. You UPGRADED rantards. Not that hard. You'll miss Monty and ED O(as motivator, recruiting DD is equally as good)

Pull it together folks. Get ready for the lady vols this weekend. Phil will get all this straighted out. We didnt think Kiffin could get the job done and look what he accomplished this year. Eventhough he left for his dream job he has left us with a bright future. The Vol nation needs to stick together.

Wait a couple days and you can get a young, NFL position coach with tons of upside (a Mike Tomlin, Raheem Morris, Josh McDaniels kinda guy).

You are right. The timing is terrible. But I'd rather have Kippy be named our permanent coach than Dooley.

I am sad that its come to this. A formerly great football program with some of the best fans and facilities in the country and we have to settle for a coach from a 3rd tier Division 1 program!

Option, wishbone, West Coast, Smash mouth, Dooley, Cutt, Gruden, Stoops, Lou Holtz,....Well maybe not Lou Holtz........I don’t care how or with who I just want to win. If Dooley is our guy, than everyone needs to start winning somewhere. After all coaches are not breaking through the athletic department doors to take the job. We are Volunteer fans, not coach fans. No one person is bigger than the program...well maybe Berry and Peyton, but no one else.

He has already shown to have questionable reasoning. If he had let the players rip the arms off Kiffin, he would already have the job. :)

I don't make many predictions about other posters on this site, but I will say this....

Zjcvols fan will make a ridiculous, unsubstantiated prediction about the future of an SEC coach immediately after he prefaces the comment by claiming he scarcely makes such conjectures...............and he probably hasn't been laid in a while.
