State was driving,
Ole Miss “injury” disrupted everything
State got a first down, but wait!
A highly suspect pick called on their guy nullified the gain and dropped em back.
Their kicker nailed one but it hit the crossbar.
Still 17-7
Looks like the Vols aren’t the only ones working uphill
At one point it looked as though Dart was dang near knocked unconscious for a few seconds on a play that was confirmed targeting. He didn’t miss much time and I don’t recall them even mentioning anything like possible concussion protocol. Is this normal? Perhaps I missed something and it was addressed. Looked like a hit that team doctors would be concerned with.
I didn't mean that. I meant the coaching staff allowing a player who was <at a minimum, dazed; more than a minimum, unconscious> back in the game without going through a concussion protocol -is that something that refs are supposed to monitor? It was called and confirmed targeting I think.
Oh, that’s a good point. Seems like I can recall instances of the refs making a player leave play to be checked out, but I’ve no idea about the ultimate responsibility. I assumed it would be with the medical staff, which is why it surprised me to see him back in the game. I might be completely wrong, but it looked dangerous and my assumption was that they would err on the side of caution.I didn't mean that. I don't know if that is a ref responsibility or solely on the coaching and medical staff of the affected player.
