Effect of Georgia State Loss on recruiting

I think the biggest problem the coaching staff with have with respect to recruiting will be how to explain Saturday's total failure. Sure, we can all call for benching anyone that's not giving their all and letting the freshmen set the tone for the future. But, Saturday's outcome is as much on the coaches as it is those who failed to do their jobs and/or give their all while on the field.

Recruiting, like most things in life, is a mix of many different characteristics, one of which being relationships. Hopefully, the staff can use established relationships to convince potential recruits Saturday was a complete fluke.

My personal perspective: At this point they can call it a fluke all the want, but I no longer believe anything that comes "out of the mouth" of the staff, the administration, or anyone associated with towing the line for UT Football. I'll believe when the give me something to believe in. Until then, its all just a lot of cheap talk and Jr. High like propaganda.

This one game wont have a major impact on recruiting. If we end up at 4-8 or 5-7 (or worse), then yes, it will since recruits know Pruitt is gone or a dead man walking...

Pruitt just received his first 8 nails to seal his own coffin, now, how many nails will it take to seal his fate at UT?

And do you see a better record than that after what you saw Saturday? I sure as hell don’t. If there were 6 turnovers, and you beat their ass in every other stat line then maybe you could pass it off as an outlier. But they beat UT thoroughly on both sides of the ball. And as has been stated, after last season, it will be hard to make that line believable. Top that with the fact that Tennessee will be hard pressed to win 4 games and I think there might be some affect on recruiting. Jmo.

If he keeps playing the freshmen and sophomores then it won’t hurt much at all.

You can sell “I’d rather lose with you early to win big later” to kids in a second season. Year 3-4 not so much

Losing to a 2 win Georgia State Football team has to have it's consequences on the recruiting trail and the only thing Pruitt has to sell now is early playing time.

How long before the de-commits start and can you really blame recruits after witnessing the total lack of effort and coaching exibited by Tennessee's players and it's entire coaching staff?
If their record is 1-5 or worse expect most of the 2020 class to vaporize overnight...idk exactly how many they have currently but if it’s around 10-15 recruits I’m guessing 13 will leave....
