That's what I was thinking. I'd say yes but I don't see it as a huge jump.

Maryland isn't exactly a power house program. He'll have to have a hell of a year at Maryland to play in a BCS bowl.

It won't be that hard for Maryland to win the ACC next year. Edsall has some great defenses.

The ACC isn't exactly a powerhouse conference.

The smart money is on FSU and VT to run things for the time being, but it's not like Edsall took a job in the SEC West. Hell, Wake Forest won the ACC not too long ago.

I think he probably peaked at UConn. Even the ACC is a real conference compared to the Big East.

Much easier to convince kids to come to Maryland than frigid Connecticut too. All the Big East programs blow.

If TCU wasn't coming towards the Big East like a freight train, I'd personally stay at UConn. Surprising, and a great move for Edsall. I've always seen some potential in Maryland -- not for greatness, but to be at least in the mix for the ACC title, at least in years where FSU plays the Terps on the road.
