*edit just referencing ole miss violations. Please delete if not cool.

Plus booster dissociation, show causes on staff. And that’s if we don’t get double what ole miss got a couple years ago for 21 level ones.
And yes ole miss had a 7.8 million dollar penalty...
Have any of white’s candidates been through something like this?
White’s the guy but man oh man

Sankey described Tennessee’s reaction to the situation as “exemplary” on how a school should respond. I don’t expect a wrist slap but I’d be surprised if the book gets thrown at them. Otherwise, schools would be best advised to cover up as much as they could.

Change the title to reflect that then...

And I don't think anyone really needs to answer OPs question. There are maybe what, 2 or 3 coaches who have been through sanctions like that? I'm sure OP could figure it out if so inclined...

USC....MIAMI....Penn St....Bama.....Ole Miss....

If they can survive we can survive. Most of those programs did far worse than Pruitt and Company. We took immediate action ourselves, cleaned out the trash ourselves, and reported it to the NCAA ourselves. Come off the cliff and look outside the box.

Precedent? We’re not getting off with nothing.

UT “discovered” the problem, self funded the investigation and then moved swiftly to clean house of everyone with possible ties to it all the way up to the AD.

I don’t know how they could have responded more deliberately or sent a stronger message of a desire to comply. I’d imagine it’s a model of how the NCAA would want schools to react. I certainly wouldn’t understand why they would do anything to dissuade other schools to react in similar fashion.

Let’s hope the majority of their wrath targets those no longer associated with our university.

A couple of years of bowl bans and scholarship reductions may dictate the kind contract a coach is given, but any coach who sees that as reason not to come to UT is probably someone we don’t need anyway.

White needs to self impose something and hope it’s enough...

I don't THINK it's White who would make that decision but rather the president and chancellor. If I had to guess, when UT submitted their findings to the NCAA, they likewise submitted the details for self-imposed punishment and now they're simply waiting for the NCAA's response/approval.

True. Probably one reason for the outside counsel.

The only missing piece is Tennessee didn’t mention the source of the $$$. In most cases it comes from boosters.
It’s the piece that has had me questioning this all along. It appears to be a ploy to not pay a buyout to the coaches. The NCAA will want to know where the money came from and put a stop to it happening again.
