Eddrick Loften update....

no doubt. those 3 would be a nice rotation and I think Fowlkes and Jeffery may be solid guys eventually but they aren't ready to start. and it looks like Walls will be suspended for a game or 2 and it would be huge to have Brown there.

No love for Sykes?

Loften, Clark, and Brown became incredibly important in the last few weeks, as if they weren't before. If all get in, that is obviously huge.

What's the thought on Walls - probably not playing to start the season or too close to call?

LV when should we hear officially when Brown & Clark are officially "in" for good.

We should know something on Loften and Dixon by the end of the month.

It will be sometime in August before we know about Brown and Clark cuz they are in classes that last into August and they have to get their grades back from those classes.

No love for Sykes?

It sounds like Walls and King will be suspended for 1-3 games.

If Walls played for Florida he would have at least gotten suspended for the first stretch of the first practice

Clark is just finishing up classwork at JUCO and is expected to be find.

Hubbs said he expects Brown to be a Vol this fall.

Literally nobody has any idea what's going on with Pair.
Hahaha remember when I predicted pair would not end up here?

Any update, someone again reported positive news from his facebook posts on Saturday. Anyone have any updates or insight?

Big time potential player and Myles dismissal makes him very important for this year.

Loften is not here along w/ Clark (Juco DB), Pair (OL), and Dixon (Ath). Practice starts this Wed, so if they are coming they should be here Monday or Tuesday.

It was reported that Loften posted some positive vibes on Saturday on facebook, but he has done that before and not been correct.

Thanks for commenting on Pair, I was wondering about him, and apparently mikehamiltonfan can't answer a question unless he can write a novel about it.

Hubbs says that Clark and Pair have a much better chance at making it than either Loften or Dixon. Clark had to take a class this summer to be eligible, and Pair had some sort of paperwork issue at his high school.

Brent is not saying anything, he is being intentionally vague so he can't be pinned down on anything.

I agree Clark just needs the SEC Math class that he is taking currently at JUCO and should be good to go.

He said yesterday we only have 2 spots left due to 25 initial limit.

We have 4 open spots, I think Pair's academic 'issues' are a smokescreen for a grey shirt waiting to see if 2 of the others don't get in.

What about John Brown? What are his odds of making it in?

What about John Brown? What are his odds of making it in?

Here is what he said about Brown:

"Second session summer school doesn't end till August 10th and I know he is in some classes that he must make a "c" or better in before he can be eligible.

Our position is that the optimism towards Brown being eligible this fall is not as high as it was at the start of the summer.

We have been around this long enough to know that anything can happen, with grade changes, make up work, classes, etc.

So we are not saying that he is not going to make it or he is not going to make it for sure. But we can say that no one is counting on him at this point."

Brown is a big debate.

James Bryant posted today he thinks he will make it in. He is already here taking classes, but needs to meet certain progress milestones to be eligible.

Brent is playing it both ways and saying in Fridays war room that staff is not counting on Brown being part of the team. It is a lawyerly way to be right no matter what. If he plays, he can say they were not planing on him being here but happy he is eligible.

My opinion is that they did not bring him here to not be eligible. They can track his academic progress EVERY day. They can get him eligible IMO.

Unless Brown is really in trouble in these classes, then it isn't being "laweyrish," it is just being truthful. The staff doesn't know if he'll be there or not until finals are over...but they may have spoken to him/instructors enough to know that he is going to have to have some very good luck in the next two weeks to make it happen. Until his grades are in, all Hubbs (or anyone) can do is read the tea leaves.
