imo this is Memphis way of taking any potential heat off of Porter until he takes job....as for Gran it is adding to his resume and I would be suprised if he would move his family to memphis

This explains why Gran was still in Memphis boarding a plane to Knoxville by himself this morning.

Him leaving could actually be good for the program. UT would miss his coaching but if he spends one year as UT's RB coach and then gets a head coaching job for a FBS school that would be a great sell to future assistants for UT. CLK will churn assistants if he's hiring the right guys because they will move on to higher level jobs with other schools. Even him getting an interview reflects well on UT.

Good for him. Probably more for recruiting then coaching imo. He is a good coach though, look at hardesty's change. I'm sure there are plenty of great coaches looking to grab an open spot in our program. It's a bigtime program in full fledged comeback mode with more NC's in our near future. Go Vols!!

Memphis is were coaches go to see their career die. This would be a mistake imo.

Just refreshing to have a wanted coach by others besides Cutcliffe and trooper. Other than that nobody has wanted our coaches in a long time till they had been released or fired.

Must have been an early interview. I sat behind him on a plane that left Memphis at 8:30. I was wondering why he was not with the team...

Memphis is a dead end road. Bad team bad facilities, and a athletic program that doesn't want to put any money in the football program.
