Ed Orgeron return to coaching?

This will sound like an insult and I'm not trying for it to be, but if Coach O never got into football he'd be selling pest control door-to-door or something like that.

He's a great recruiter and hype man who hit the jackpot with Joe Brady + Joe Burrow in 2019. I don't think you'd put him in any kind of a leadership position on a coaching staff (nothing above a position coach). As has been seen various times throughout his career, he needs adult supervision.

I mean I don't hate the guy or anything

COach O has a bit of the Mile Leach in him, where you can't help but laugh at him sometimes.

Honestly, speaking of the Pirate, I believe that Ed O could have enjoyed a very Leach like career if he had chosen to do so. Turn a series of very low level P4-5 schools who have rarely won jack into consistent winners.

He's not a horrible coach at the end of the day. Just not a guy who is equipped to handle the big chair at a big time program.

I agree, doubt he will ever do that again. However, if he loves coaching… more power to him.

What are your thoughts on him as a defensive position coach or coordinator? Do you think he gets back into coaching this cycle?

Too old to have the hunger.

Shaky morals.

Think he sits out another cycle but probably jumps into Miami in some defensive role in a couple of years.

Love the song/video:

I had missed your comments about him returning as a defensive position coach or coordinator, so I initially responded in consideration to him returning as a head coach. I think the would do well somewhere as a DC, and there would also be some ancillary benefits to the right HC/team due to his HC experience. For example, Huepel could use more coaches around him that shave nearly every day, tuck in their shirts and take care of themselves lol.

Orgeron is better at taking his shirt off than he is at tucking it in.

No way. If the powers that be wouldn't bring back Kiffin then definitely Orgeron shouldn't be back either. He was the one calling Brandon Willis and the other early enrollees on our own Tennessee provided phones telling them last minute change of plans "dont show up here or you are aut enrolled we are leaving going to USC. Follow us to USC!" He literally poached our own players with our own phones for recruiting. He even called Tyler Bray but Bray was already on campus and Mike Hamilton our AD said that locked those players in otherwise we would have been even worse off. Brandon Willis when he told his story said he was in shock as he was driving over the mountains in North Carolina with bags packed when he got the call to turn around.

I think Coach O is funny but he is unethical as it gets. At least use your own phones not The University of Tennessees. 😡
