Kiff cleary stated that this is EB's last reg season game. And that he/we will really miss him. Has he had this public stance before? Is he trying to throw us off? Or is he trying to tell us b4 Eric does?

CLK has maintained all along that EB is gone after this season in their eyes, based on little comments that he makes. I don't see how he isn't gone.

The reference on The Lane Kiffin show was about EB returning kicks. CLK said that since it was the last regular season game he put him back there to give us a spark. He did not say or mean that this was EB's last game. The thinking is it's the last regular season game and he doesn't have to worry about him getting injured and missing a game with there being a month before the bowl. That's all.

The original person to mention the last game said "his last regular season game" not "the last regular season game." I don't know which was the case.

I don't think we have to look for too many clues though. I will honestly think he has lost his mind if he risks the rookie salary cap.

I think he is being advised by everyone (including the staff) to go. It is in his best interest.

TennTradition has it right, he can't take that chance.

Can anyone comment on the new NFL rookie salary cap? If Berry stays he could risk millions in guaranteed money... Anyone know if this will be implemented for the next rookie class?

I don't in any way pretend to guess what will happen, but it is my understanding that the NFL Players Association will push for a rookie salary cap in the next collective bargaining agreement, so that more money will go to established veterans rather than unproven rookies (see Jamarcus Russell). This would likely take effect in 2011's draft class (barring a hold out/lock out). EB would risk losing an incredible amount of money if he stays.

we have enough coaches from the NFL that he should listen to them. I'm sure there's not one at UT advising him to stay

I'd selfishly love it if he stayed but EB needs to go get paid. He's done everything he needs to do here to prepare himself for the next level. Forget about the record... Berry doesn't need that record to prove anything. He's leaving the program in good hands (namely Janzen Jackson..) and if his little brothers do come here it'll be all good for years to come! Go get PAID young man!!!!!!!!

Im telling all of you he is staying....he is going to make a lot of money regardless if it is this year or next year....He is not a selfish person and is a team first player. His father publicly said that they are not in a financial situation where they have to have EB go to the NFL. They are fine...he will stay to win try to win a SEC championship and beat FLA....if you havent noticed...EB and Peyton have very similar attitudes..AND...as far as him getting hurt..can someone please tell me the last time a safety had a career ending injury (other than Sean Taylor who was shot)....if you are a QB, WR, or RB you go early if you have an opportunity...the punishment on those 3 positions is brutal....however safeties dont get hurt....he will stay...wait and see

I hope he does stay but, I do not see it happening. If he goes this year he will be the #1 pick. He will get that #1 pick money and i hate to say it but, even tebow the saint couldn't turn down that money.

Wasn't Inky Johnson a safety or at least a cornerback? He sustained not just a career ending injury, but a life altering one too. He has permanent nerve damageon the left? side of his body.

That being said, it is rare and I would love for EB to come back for a shot at the SEC championship.

Everything at this point is mere speculation. Nobody knows what EB is going to do other than the Berry family and probably the coaches. It could be that Kiffin is speculating himself. He's being smart by not betting on Berry to stay so he can prepare for it if that's the case. Kind of like not putting your eggs in one basket. Everyone guessing whether he stays or goes is doing just that--guessing. Regardless what EB decides, we will be fine. As said earlier JJ seems to be of the EB mold and will come into his own. Let's just calm down, wait, and see what happens.

Eric will be a top 10 pick.

I went back and looked at the draft history, only 11 DB's have been taken in the top 10 this decade, hard to believe.

Another Eric was the highest DB ever at number 2.

Eric Turner ( Browns ).

With the rookie cap in '11, he is all but gone.

Good luck, and here is hoping that you don't go to the Raiders.
