Eat Crow Kirk Herbstreit, Tennessee Hater

During the College GameDay predictions on ESPN yesterday, everyone BUT Kirk Herbstreit picked Tennessee to win. Seems he's still butthurt over the huge "embarrassment" we are for throwing stuff on the field. Poor wittle fella done got kicked out of Ohio and now just a Vandy Homer living in Nashville.

Never heard of him.

Y'all are ridiculous. He made a prediction. It almost came true. That's not "hating."

He's been very supportive of Tennessee in the past and praised our tradition, environment, and often said that college football is better with Tennessee being good. Some of our fans need to stop being so sensitive.

Why Kirk Herbstreit apologized to a Tennessee player after defending Baker Mayfield’s behavior

“That’s why Tennessee has issues. They don’t have any discipline. He should have taken his uniform off, sent him upstairs and said, ‘Get some popcorn, because you’re no longer on the team’ and sent a message to the whole team."

Kirk Herbstreit laments ’embarrassment’ for Tennessee after Ole Miss Ending

"I feel really bad a few of their fans embarrassed the Tennessee fan base."

‘Really? Like, what are we doing throwing objects on the field at a college football game?’

Kirk Herbstreit is still getting it wrong when it comes to the Tennessee Vols

“Rutgers is better than when you hear ‘Rutgers.’ They’re better than that,” said Herbstreit. “Schiano, another coach who is doing really good work. And to think Tennessee kicked him out of the door before they could’ve had him is crazy.”

Off the top of my head, I remember Herbstreit picking Tennessee to win the division in 2006, 2015, and 2016. Tennessee was a trendy pick in 2016, but he was on an island with the other two. That’s not even getting into the times that he proclaimed Tennessee was back like after losing to Florida in 2009. Herbstreit has his flaws, but he’s about as objective as it gets in sports media. He has no problem admitting that he’s wrong as he did with Gaulden. He probably still thinks Schiano got screwed, but he would definitely admit that Tennessee appears to be better than he thought with Heupel.

Another NFL bust who thinks he is a "star". He is nothing but an ass-wipe.

Herbstreit is almost as bad as Tim Tebow. Neither are welcome in Neyland Stadium.

He deserves zero respect from UT fans. He's an OSU followed by a BIG 10 homer. If you had respect for him, just pull this factoid up in your CPU from memory. He gave UT and our fans hell for not hiring Schiano. THEN when the OSU coaching job came open, found no voice at all for Schiano getting that job when he was on their staff. $#@% Herbie.

Just a side note. He doesn’t live in Nashville anymore. He moved back to Ohio. He left after last child graduated high school from MBA.

He predicted how the game would go. UK dominated time of possession. Problem was we scored at rocket speed.

Most reasonable post here in a while...

Kirk is a clown. The irony is that he resides in the very same state that provides him low taxes and a good family environment to raise his kids. I can't recall Kirk ever having one good thing to say about the University in his entire broadcasting career.
You haven't been paying attention, then. He's usually been pretty complimentary of UT over the years.

Herby doesn’t care one way or the other who wins the Kentucky Tennessee game.

And people wonder why at times, our fan base is a laughing stock

I don’t think he lives in Nashville anymore. Word is his kid got beat out as qb at MBA, so he moved bock to Cincinnati.

I saw a few weeks after the Shiano incident Herbie changed his take. He basically said what happened with TN is something every administration had better pay attention to. In the era of social media fans, community leaders and politicians have the ability to be heard when schools try to hire someone the fans don't want. This is going to happen at other schools!

He did move to Cincinnati, but His son is just a freshman in high school, so I don’t know if him not being the starting quarterback is the reason. He’s playing at St. X in Cincinnati which is a powerhouse program.

OSU had a coach close line a player who was running down the field.

He needs perspective.

FYI. This is Kirk’s tweet about the win.

Impressive win for @Vol_Football last night. Hendon Hooker continues to be very efficient in Josh Heupel’s scheme-Vols are 5-4 have S. Alabama & Vandy remaining & this week host UGA! This Vols offense will be a challenge for the dominant Dawgs D! Vols playin with confidence!

I don't watch Gameday anymore because Corso should have retired years ago, but I don't mind KH. Generally speaking I think his analysis of UT over the years has been even, both praise and criticism when called for.

All the "ESPN hates us" crap is so whiny and pathetic. The irony of those sensitive, delicate flowers having their entire week ruined because the bad man on the talking picture box said something critical about my favorite football team is hilarious and should be mocked.

ESPN's interest is in good games and high ratings, not blind fealty to a school.

Pretty well spoken. It's really not ESPN's fault UT admin. and bad hires at AD led to a downward spiral in our football program that's been mediocre at best for the past 15-20 years. Our new AD has a very positive background and seems to have the right approach of getting us heading in the right direction. There will be growing pains along the way and that requires patience and that's one problem a lot of fans have. Another is developing a culture with hard-working leaders on the team and I think that's the way CJH goes about it........rewarding hard work and the best example is Matthew Butler whom I think played just about every snap during the Ole Miss game, (over 100 snaps). Winning cures a lot.
