Easy Money

On Sunday, I figured Auburn would start out at -13. However, they began at -6.5 on Monday and have stayed there through the week...

This baffles me about as much as Florida starting and staying at -7.5 last week. Anyway, made some good money on that game, figure to do the same this week.

I have spent countless hours on casino floors, but I don't have the first idea of how to place sports bets. Any of you guys know where I can learn more?

I think UCLA game dealt some bitter blows betting on UT. Never a safe bet with Fulmer at the helm. Heck, we could come out and pull a blowout like GA the last two years and it would not surprise me.

For spreads, your money goes with who you think will win if you took their score and either added or subtracted the spread. Therefore, if Auburn is -6.5 and UT is +6.5, and the final score is 10-3, Auburn. Then the score, according the the spread, was actually either 3.5-3 (if your money was on Auburn) or 10-9.5 (if your money was on UT). In that example, the money on Auburn -6.5 wins.

Money lines require a little bit more math, yet, your money goes with the winner, straight-up. If you have Auburn -220, then for every $220 you wager, you win $100 (if Auburn wins). If UT is +250, then for every $100 you wager, you win $250 (if UT wins).

You also have over/under bets which just consists of the total number of points scored by both teams. Then you can parlay (bet on multiple games, but you must win each wager individually to win the parlay, or you lose) or tease.

Thanks, concise and informative. I still don't know if I can put any money on games. I prefer to lose my money at the craps table.

I promise you, this is not easy money... I also refuse to bet against the team I hold dear to my heart...

With that said.. the Over Under is like 37.5 and I really think the Under is the way to go with that.

If you GIVE Tennessee the two touchdowns we had against Florida inside the 5 yard line where we messed up, that will give us 14 points.. Then add 7 points because we went for a two point conversion and didn't make it. So that equals 21 points.

Take away the TWO Touchdowns we GAVE Florida by the Kick Return and Punt Return and that 30 points turns into 16 points.

Against a High Explosive Offense such as Florida and the Total points of that game scored is 37 points.

Auburns Offense is NO WHERE NEAR Florida and their Defense is MUCH Better than Floridas... With that said.... Go with the Under.

I wouldnt bet on this game. You just never know. It could end up being like the florida a week ago . It also could get like the ga game last year or the lsu game in 05. Its just too unpredictable.

Whoa, big fella. Hoving made several trips to Vegas, one thing I have learned. You never want to bet for or against the Jekyl-and-Hyde Vols. Tennessee is a terrible favorite, and I would bet against themin that role almost every time.

As an underdog, though, it is a dicey proposition at best. I would have taken Florida in a heartbeat. But, I don't have that kind of faith in Tupperware. While I believe Auburn will cover, I doubt I would put my money on it.

Hold your money. UT covers against AU. Stay away from UF too - they may very well lose to Ole Miss at home.

Betting on Tennessee is like betting on your ex-wife...she'll break your heart and take your wallet.:mega_shok:

Then could you please start putting down around $20 against them every game. Just consider it your victory fund...
they wouldn't bother changing over 20. The day I made a material bet against them, they'd kill me.

Although they are getting consistent enough in big games under Fulmer that I might be able to figure out something that works.
