I mainly play south of ATL at River Forest, Heron Bay, Sun City etc.

Oh ya. I nvr get down around there we usually just play up here in N GA. Only course I've ever gone to in ATL is Windermere. Oh and Olde Atl. You ever hear of Achasta up here in Dahlonega? Haven't been there yet but my God it looks beautiful everytime I drive by.

who in their right mind would be worrying about getting extra distance if they're hitting a 17 degree 320?

Ok stop for a second. I said I averaged 280 and (this is a big IF) if the wind was right and the layout was favorable I could hit 320. One time I hit 350 with it but honestly the ball rolled 40/50 yds.

Do you not remember him taking out the driver and adding an extra wedge at the Buick a few years back? He was paired with Tiger and got shalacked, I think?

I drove by Achasta 2 weeks ago. You're right. It looks spectacular.

if I averaged 280 with good control with a 17 degree, I wouldn't be worried about adding distance unless I knew with certainty I was hitting greater than 70% of the fairways with a driver or 15 degree.

It's what you score, not how you get there.

you're the one talking about adding distance, not me. You've yet to say how well you control the hammer or an actual 3 wood, so I've added that exception with every entry I've put out.

Jesus IDK what your vendetta is against me but like I've said before I don't have a freaking driver. And my 3 wood/ 4 wood whatever you want to call it I can average 280 straight down the schute pretty consistantly. 75 /80%

We have a par three you can play at night, do you have any of those courses around?

When I lived in Orlando we played every Wednesday night. Chris DiMarco is a friend and joined us when he was in town. Let's just say that beer and "night perception" is a great equalizer.:)

that has nothing to do with what I'm saying. I haven't said anything against you. You did mention getting a 13-15 degree club and I'm saying unless you know you're going to hit it consistently straight, don't worry about going up in distance with what you've already got. Use the availability of an extra club to help you once you get off the tee.

Seriously, Fred Funk would kill for those stats.

Eh I don't make nearly enough to buy anymore clubs and still have a place to live right now so all this is irrelevant. As of right now I'm only using 9 clubs and a putter. Broke the driver, broke the sandwedge, had a 5 wood and outgrew it (I wouldn't use a 5 anymore anyways). Granted I broke these clubs like 7 years ago being stupid but still. I actually have had some terrible luck with club shafts. I broke the driver just hitting the ball. I nutted it, dead center, and the club head went flying along with the ball.

Haha! No s--t!

Seriously, the.one, don't listen to them. Find a driver you like and give it hell. Hack and slash is way more exciting.

No doubt. Honestly I'm not going to get another 3. I really just want a driver to see if I can hit the house past the net and trees at the driving range lol.

Playing in a tournament in college and at the same time the head met the ball, the head of the driver came flying off. The weirdest feeling in the world. It felt like my arms came out of socket because of the weight change swinging through the shot.
