Verizon works best in the 'way outta the way' place called Stinking Creek.

Now some may say that doesn't matter to them because they have no plans to ever be at Stinking Creek.

But if it will work way out here in God's country, it should work even better as you get nearer civilization.

how's the coverage on net10?

will android work on Blackberry... is that a Google OS?

The Android is a Google OS powered phone. Similar to the iPhone but with an actual slide out keyboard. It also has an app store but with free apps.

sprint has awful coverage.

I have verizon and dont have a problem anywhere, and their phones are good, im not a big fan of the iphone, but the crackberry curve is awesome!

Sprint and VZ both have cdma technology and share each others towers where the other has weak coverage. So they both have coverage in the same location as long as one carrier has coverage.

I have had no problems with Verizon. I traveled around the country this year on a trip with some my friends and with the exception of baren areas of Idaho and about 10 min area in W. Texas (which we of course broke down during this time) I had no problems.

Verizon has the best coverage, hands down. But if you want the best phones that don't have crippled features (like wifi)... and can stand a dropped call here and there... get AT&T.

And for the record, Android has a long way to go before it can be classified as an Iphone competitor. Has it even been released yet? This week maybe?

:hi:

I may have to give it a try. I like the 5cent text feature. I keep hoping that they'll offer some sort of unlimited text plan. I know they have an unlimited plan, but I don't need it for phone and text.

Go to net 10.com and check it out they have unlimited plans.

I used to have Verizon and had trouble with coverage going through Knoxville, but it may have just been a crappy phone. I switched to ATT and a new phone and have never had a problem.

I think it came out on Thursday or Friday. I got one on Saturday. I used it to post on VN yesterday. I like using the slide out keyboard and having the whole screen to look at. So far, I am not acquainted enough with the device to give a fully informed review. I've been a Verizon customer for a good while and was not in position to switch carriers just to get an Iphone so I've been waiting for this a looooong time.

Did the mobile version of VolNation work properly I assume?

If you waited to upgrade until Q3 of next year you probably could have gotten an iPhone for Verizon. That's a rumor of course though.

I did not bother using it because I was able to aceess and view the full site with no problem at a pretty high speed. Defintely not as quick as the T3 at work, but fast nonetheless. Maybe I'll try the mobile version sometime for comparision?

I have Sprint... one of the phones that uses regular phone service or the Nextel direct connect. I have been a few places down around Townsend that I didn't have service but ATT didn't either. Around Knoxville I have no problems... Clinton, Oak Ridge, Maryville, Halls or anywhere is good as far as I have experienced. It sucks getting someone from India if you have problems.

Verizon seems to be the best from SC to TN but outside the city I have no experience with them.
