I currently have US Cellular, and have had it for nearly 10 years, but the past year or so the service has gotten pretty bad. So, I am shopping around trying to find a new provider. I have looked at Sprint because they have a plan that is pretty reasonable and has everything I need. My question is, what would you all suggest for the best coverage/service in East Tennesse? I travel constantly from Knoxville all over East Tennessee, SW Virginia, and into Middle TN.

I travel most of East Tennessee for court and have AT&T. Except for a small dead spot between Maynardville and Tazewell, I have no problems.

If you want an iPhone go with AT&T, if you want awesome coverage with some pretty cool phones still, go with Verizon.

So the consensus appears to be AT&T or Verizon. Anyone have any experience with Sprint?

i have 2 good friends that had sprint. let's just say i wouldn't go with sprint if it was half the price of at&t.

I currently have at&t and cannot stand it. I live in west knoxville, and will lose service just sitting on my couch. I've not had a good experience with at&t over the last year. I had verizon before that and was unhappy with the customer service so I switched. From what I remember, verizon had better coverage through east tennessee...

Verizon, hands down. Even picks up going down the Ocoee.

Sprint will treat you nice while you're dating, and screw you big when you break up.

I hate plans and service contracts. Additionally I like Net 10. At ten cents a minute and no roaming fees, 5 cent texting, free directory assistance and the parent company being AT&T. I find it hard to argue against for just calls and texting. All the up-links, 3G whatever's. I Just don't know!

At 10 cents/min and 5 cents/text, between me and my wife, I would have to take out a loan to pay my cell phone bill every month.

From the opposite end of the spectrum, I just sold my other net 10 phone with 1389 minutes on it for a nice samsung with 300 minutes (new) and fifty bucks.

verizon has a record of f-ing your phone bill. I had them for 2 years. Had at&T for 3 + years now without any complaints.

I've used Verizon for years now and love them. AT&T had crappy signal strength, and now Verizon is getting a competitor to the iPhone with the Android.

problems with us cell? I live in knoxville and use us cellular with no complaints. I seem to always have signal when people I'm with have none. Its not uncommon that my phone will ring three miles deep in the great smoky mountains national park either.

I had sprint for a long time, went to AT&T about a year ago and havent looked back. Awful customer service, repair services, and little or no discount on phone upgrades over time, even with a contract, compared to AT&T.
