I seen on CFB Daily today one of the analyst said "Tennessee doesn't deserve the #9 ranking." Well #12 Michigan State just struggled with Furman and pulled away with the final score 28-13. Does this mean MSU doesn't deserve to be ranked #12?

Guess I get tired of the biased media bs

Actually it was 28-13 but they did struggle

They tacked one on with about 4.5 minutes to go to make it look better and they were much bigger favorites than we were. 38.5 points favorites I believe.

Correct around 38 point favorites.

It's not uncommon for big teams to struggle against weak opponents in the first week. If we continue playing like that though we're in trouble. But I think the app state game was unrepresentative of our team's play

That's exactly how I feel. If we go up to Bristol this week and look terrible then I'm gonna raise the pucker factor a bit but until given a reason otherwise I'm not going to look too much into last night.

Thats exactly what it means. Neither MSU nor UT played up to their rankings. So in the end, no MSU does not deserve their ranking right now.

I'd love to brag about us being # 9 also but after what I saw last night I certainly couldn't say we should be any higher than 15--you have to prove it on the field. If AppState had an accurate kicker we would have lost that game hands down. I do think we got ripped over that non-TD because the ball came out only after the player hit the turf. He had control of the ball after 2 steps in the end zone. Still, we should have played better. I still think App State is much better than they are given credit; they did have 17 returning players from last year. I'm sure they were more motivated than our guys with a chance to be a giant killer again. Give credit to App State for a good game plan & effort. I still think our team is much better than what they showed but passing game still a big doubt in my opinion.

finally we have a topic worthy!! its the first game.... many many teams have done this before.. i am honestly not that worried. i think a few things happen vs app state,
1. we didnt take app state serious at all and thought we could show up and win
2. i REALLY think we didnt open the play book and didnt want to show our hand, i think the coaches didnt think we needed to open the playbook either.
3. we found a way to not give up when all looked lost.

with that said i expect a 14 point victory over vt for a few reasons and here they are...
1. app state is a better team then vt i do believe
2. we should have learned a lesson that talet cant win games alone
3. we will open the playbook and eveyone should be 100% focused on vt with a LONG LONG week of practice... no days off but friday this week so they should have been on the field today in my opinion and hitting it hard!!

another small question i have is and i do love DOBBS like the next guy but i do wonder if we would be better with a guy who can make all the throws (staying with dobbs but his decision making is sometimes questionabkle for a guy who is as smart as he is)

The difference is, and yes MSU will still receive some flack, no one else was in real danger of losing.

Seen on Twitter ESPN didn't seem to think it was a big deal. Never mind that MSU was a playoff team a year ago. That seems a little ridiculous. They trash us, yet that's okay? Seems legit.

That was my whole point! If UT doesn't deserve to be #9 then MSU sure as heck doesn't deserve to be #12. It was the first game of the year. I'm not worrying too much about it. If UT shows up like that against VT at Bristol then I'm going to be worried

Bigger difference - Furman is an FCS school coming off a 4-win season. App State is FBS coming off an 11-win season. We played bad and made App State look better than they are, but MSU's game was much worse.
