I will concede that game 1 versus Austin Peay was a well played no penalty football game. Everyone saw that Worley was going to struggle. Nobody got meaningful snaps at back up qb.

game 2 Worley continues to show signs of not performing at sec levels and still nobody gets meaninful snaps at qb.

game 3 you absolutely got hammered by a much better opponent and worley continued to show he could not make it happen....Peterman gets mop up duty vs Oregons 3rd string.

game 4 in the swamp you finally decide it is time to change qb......but you havent given the back up any meaningful playing time.......it backfires and you not only get burned you hold your hand to the fire the entire first half when a Florida team was begging for you to beat them.

game 5 the team starts off great and has a 31-7 lead in the first half...your qb throws 3 picks and gives the little South Alabama team life....then you try a fake field goal which looks like it would have worked but your team didnt execute. You have to punt the football in that situation. Palardy has been good to this point and by that decision you prolly destroy his confidence and give the other team great field position.

Summary we are 3-2 and all of us thought we would be 3-2.........but guys I dont see a football team that is improving from week to week.........we seem to be getting worse and the next few games are going to be brutal.

IMO the single absolutely inexplicable move was keeping Peterman in after he began to decompensate (around the first play or so).

Close runner up is starting Peterman in the first place.

All the rest can be debated based on personnel, circumstances, etc.

Think about his for a moment..........we are going into our SEC stretch first up in UGA with Worley and 2 frosh whom have never seen the field.........you think Worley might take a hit or 2? Then you are forced to make your redshirt decision without any playing time.......interesting....

Would have liked to see us hold off on the fake fg until we're playing a league game and in need of a momentum shift, but that's about it.

Butch has put himself in a no win situation. If Worley does go down and one of the freshman come in and do really well, the the fans will be saying you should have be playing the guy all along. If he comes in and sux they'll be saying you should have gotten him some time earlier.

I think the coaching has been good. Obviously we are running a very basic offense/defense to make up for our lack of talent and depth.

Butch has been a winner at both programs he's been at. You can say he followed in Kelley's shoes, but I've seen several poor coaches take over with the same talent the prior winning coach had and just fall flat on their face.

This team is playing much harder and they don't quit. That is a sign of good coaching. Can't blame Butch from the movement on the fake field goal. That was good coaching and poor execution.

Better talent and more depth = better execution.

Ask yourself. Are we better than last year? The answer is yes, no doubt. Less talent than last year for sure, but a better team. We have 7-8 games left lets see how they play out and resist your temptation to use your pee wee league coaching prowess in judging these guys.

I can not say bad coaching, but there are some problems here. Either our system is too complicated for the 2 freshmen or our staff has failed to simplify it to allow the QB's and receivers to grasp the system.

With the quality of QB play that we have to this point I can see only one more possible win on the schedule, Kentucky. But even the Wildcats have gotten better from the beginning of the season to this point.

We run Pee wee plays. I know there are more plays to be seen, but right now it is what it is.

I'm with you that we may need a better QB coach cause he hasn't developed any of the 4 into a decent QB. I believe this Offense and Defense is really complicated and it takes time to learn. Believe me we will reap the benefits of struggling with it now that two years from now. On the other side you never know like 2009 it may finally click for us soon.

While Worley hasn't got better over all I can say that week by week he does seem to show a little more life than the last. I believe that the coaches may need to tailor some call to fit his skill set. You know 4-5 go to plays that he can nail.

I will concede that game 1 versus Austin Peay was a well played no penalty football game. Everyone saw that Worley was going to struggle. Nobody got meaningful snaps at back up qb. So Peterman playing the entire second half was not "meaningful" enough for you?

game 2 Worley continues to show signs of not performing at sec levels and still nobody gets meaninful snaps at qb. And almost 10 minutes here as well

game 3 you absolutely got hammered by a much better opponent and worley continued to show he could not make it happen....Peterman gets mop up duty vs Oregons 3rd string. Okay smart guy, tell me a quarterback in the country or a team for that matter that could have gone in to Autzen and played competitive other than the say top 10 in the country. Don't worry, I'll wait...

game 4 in the swamp you finally decide it is time to change qb......but you havent given the back up any meaningful playing time.......it backfires and you not only get burned you hold your hand to the fire the entire first half when a Florida team was begging for you to beat them. Never mind...going to stop commenting here since it's been covered in the other 200 threads started about this same thing. But you're a special snowflake and need to start your own thread, I understand...

game 5 the team starts off great and has a 31-7 lead in the first half...your qb throws 3 picks and gives the little South Alabama team life....then you try a fake field goal which looks like it would have worked but your team didnt execute.

Seriously guy, you just need to stop. Or please, do tell us how you would be coaching this team differently and showing vast improvement

That was my only beef coaching wise on Saturday. That fake FG was aces sans the penalty..then you are 52 yards away and leading by 2 scores....just punt the team to the 5 yard line..

Last years offense would have beat Florida

Maybe not vast but last year's defensive comas usually ended in losses.
This was the first game in a long time the kids came up with the BIG plays on defense to win the game. (regardless of who it was we were playing)
We've also improved special teams and the running game.
Worley isn't great (or good) but then again Matt simms may be starting for the Jets next week. so you never know.
Ps Misread your post Grandvol so direct the answer to the neggy.

If you thought we had a good team before the season started then your a complete idiot. Last year we stunk and we lost all of our offense to the NFL and a lot of people like the guy who started this thread thinks we are suppose to go 10 and 2. Come on guys, our upper classmen aren't very good and Dooley's recruiting was sub par so get ready we may finish 6 and 6 at best but next year may be worse. If you can't do anything but be negative then go freaking root for someone else! I know volnation is tired of losing, but I think the future looks good. I for one support our team so if you can't be positive for them then move on to another team because UT doesn't need or want ****ty fans !!

Since your such a great coach, maybe they should just let you take over the team and that way you can stop being an armchair QB.
