I think he doesn't like not being able to string kids out until February and grabbing the best he can while saying "too bad" to the ones left without a spot at Bama.

That's one reason I think this is a decent idea if it works out long term. I've always felt bad for the kids that got into NSD thinking they had a ride somewhere, got dumped, and were left scrambling to find a school. this way, after a school starts seeing some shape to their class after ESD, they maybe can give a kid a bit longer to find a new home if they dump someone.
